Can I flush the disk cache? by
rileya
Hi Mike,
Did you find a solution to your cache problem. I'm working on a data logger that appears to windows as a hard drive. I'm having similar problems as windows doesn't see new data as it is stored.
Regards,
Al.

SSD and Caching by
Anwar Mahmood
Hi All,
Apologies in advance if I'm being particularly simple.
With SSD drives coming down in price, and becoming a standard feature
in Intel's forthcoming Centrino 2 architecture, will this make caching
redundant in operating systems?
Current operating systems such as Windows XP and much more...

Agami by
Michael Kramer
I'm looking at replacing a slew of legacy Netapp filers (F760, F880, etc)
and am considering Agami among others. NAS virtualization is not an option
as most of the filers are in pocket networks.
Anyone have experience with Agami or similar?

Does a network storage to USB drive converter exist? by
abonne
Hello:
I wonder if any converters are out there, to make a networked storage
(SMB share, NDAS, ...) appear as a USB drive. That would be a small box
with a USB male connector and a 1GB Ethernet socket, remotely
configurable to access the specific networked storage.
Thank you in advance for any...

VxVM objects under change of disk device name by

A quick one, albeit likely to have been flogged to death in this
group:
If the the device file of a disk change as result of access through a
new HBA, relocation to a new SAN or whatever, what would happen to the
VxVM objects configured earlier on the disk?
For example, suppose the device name of...

changing disk size in RAID 5 by
morales
Hi,
At job we have an HP Proliant DL380 G4 High Performance with a RAID 5
array with 4 SCSI disks with 36.4 Gb capacity each one.
Last week one disk failed and the RAID 5 is working without one disk.
My problem and doubt is that HP is not selling anymore 36.4Gb disks,
just 72Gb or 142 Gb disks....
