Aria - Custom PCs by
Vittorio Janus
I've been looking at Aria's "Create Your Own PC" offer.
I've bought my last two PCs from Evesham but I quite fancy being able
to specify exactly what I want without the hassle I'd face if one or
more components were faulty.
Basically, you tell them what you want (from their stock) and they
will...

Crucial RAM return? by
Paul Hutchings
I have what I think is a stick of bad DDR ram in my Asus Pundit-R.
Basically for several weeks the machine has been crashing and BSODing,
and running memtest for an hour or two results in loads of errors.
I'm assuming from this that it is the memory (if anyone has any
suggestions on other diag...

Crucial - a class act. by
h2so4
Yesterday afternoon I decided to upgrade the memory on my laptop. After
checking prices for Sony SO DIMMs I rang the Crucial Freephone helpline,
where I was given good advice, a coup of suggested upgrades and a
reassurance that I had an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee. I
ordered the...

ITdealers email problems? by
Me
My brother hasn't had a reply to a couple of emails to ITDealers. With
their great reputation I wondered if they are having problems with their
email.

OAP Computers (eBay) by
Anton Gÿsen
I used to keep an eye on an eBay seller called "oap-computers" which had
some nice stuff from time to time. But when I just went through my
favourite sellers list I noticed that they're NARU'ed (not a registered
user). Does anyone know what happened to them, if they changed their
eBay user name or...

AL2021M, any comments (or other 1600x1200 TFTs) by
[email protected]
I am considering buying an Acer AL2021M monitor as it seems to be one
of the cheapest that can do 1600x1200, has anyone any experience of
this monitor (or other Acer TFTs for that matter)?
Alternative 19" or 20" TFTs that can do 1600x1200 and cost less than
£500 would be of interest too.

PCWorld shock horror by
[email protected]
After some weeks looking around for a USB PCI card with some internal
connectors, and finding no budget kit in stock at the usual suspects,
I decided to look at PCWorld's site. (I'd site an ad for a sale.)
PCWorld has an offshoot that sells components. There, I found not just
one option, but two,...

PC Nextday ... must have reason for DSR RMA? by
Tx2
I ordered an ADSL router from PC Nextday, and subsequently requested an
RMA under the DSR as it was not what i thought it was, a router/modem
My fault entirely.
However, PCND would not give me an RMA until i gave them a reason for
wanting to return it.
Whilst for me, actually giving them a...

DabsSpeak Translation ? by
Tony Benham
I'm looking for some guidance in translating DABS speak into English.
I ordered an in stock item( ~90) from Dabs on our account last Tuesday.
The order status has indicated Awaiting Stock since then.
If I click on order details the line items are shown as as allocated.

Komplett Returns by
Jeremiah Harbottle
I have to make a RMA return to Komplett. I notice the return address is
somewhere near Coventry Airport. Does anyone know if they'll accept personal
deliveries? (I live/work in Coventry so it seems pointless to send it via
post when I can nip out at lunchtime and take it round!)

Shop4Memory - Anyone used them? by
Sue
Hi,
I am after some micro dimm for a laptop and Crucial tell me they don't
sell micro dimm.
I have found them on shop4memory.com, an Irish site with a price in
euros about the same as the price in sterling in the UK.
Anyone had any experience of buying stuff from them? It is only bog
standard...

USB Hard Drive by

I'm looking for a USB Hard Drive, preferably one that's around 150GB or so.
Basically, the best £/Mb ratio but not too much past the £100 mark.
The best value one I know of is the:

DSR - dead pixels by
Tx2
It's OK to send back a TFT with duff pixels under the DSR, as you can
legally turn the monitor on to check it, and then send it back if you
find the display unsatisfactory; it does not have to be sent back as
new.

LOW-COST INK CARTRIDGES by
excitecar
Fellow Britons:
I know, as well as you do, that the printing on our
computer/printer is becoming very expensive in terms
of ink cartridges with the exorbitant prices the
manufacturers/dealers are putting up with these
products, so I thought of sharing you my discovery that
saves me a lot of money...

512 MB Micro DIMM's by
James Shawe
Hi. I have a Sony Vaio S1 XP laptop and I am looking to upgrade the memory
to 1GB. The only trouble is is that I am finding it quite tricky to track
down Micro-dimm's which the laptop supports, any suggestions for stockists?
Thanks
