Buying A Dell Workstation From Aria by Don
I am thinking of buying a Dell Workstation from Aria. Although the price seems reasonable, looking at posts about Aria I am not sure whether I trust them. In their defence, most of the issues are delivery times, dead pixels on TFT screens and poor customer service if you have a problem, however,...

I placed an order late Friday afternoon and selected a Saturday (next day delivery) Today, half the stuff turns up (from their drop shipper) but the stuff direct from their warehouse never emerged. Lame, weekend plans scuppered, faith in ebuyer finally gone, next supplier please!

New products on DABS by [email protected]
DABS has come up with a completely new class of products. Go to: http://www.dabs4work.com/homepage.aspx and you will see that they offer something called "perhiperals". Several days ago I sent them a message asking if these are different from peripherals. Wonder how long it will be before they...

Dell mains leads by Jim Howes
"You're not getting a PC, you're getting a DELL". Truth in advertising. It's a dell, therefore it uses completely nonstandard parts. This particular beastie is a Dell laptop, Model number currently unknown, but it has a mains adaptor with it with Dell PN 450-10463, which is listed as 'compatible...

Looking for: Panel-mount USB A socket, + 35cm bare-end cable by Jim Howes
Any idea where I can get such things? I'm looking for panel-mounting USB 'A' sockets. The same thing that usually lurks on a PC Card slot mounting bracket, but with a 35cm (or longer) cable, preferably with bare ends, although I can of course trim any useless connector. Jim

Micro ATX case recommendations by [email protected]
I'm thinking of getting a 'small form factor' case to build a micro ATX based system. My current front runner is the Aspire X Qpack which seems to have all the facilities I need. There's also the Antec NSK1300. Are there any others I should consider? I'd like reasonable quietness and...

Medion's Warranty and their after sales service by inebriate
I have owned a Medion Titanium 8386 computer for 15 months and I would have said that the machine was good value-for-money aspect, at least until things started going wrong in early August, 2006. At that point the graphics card failed and I managed to persuade Medion to send a replacement by...

Savastore responsible for Redten Internet spam by Cornelius J Rat
It turns out that the "Redten Internet" spam I've been getting is probably because some years ago I bought some stuff from Savastore. Nazir Jessa now owns Redten and Savastore seems to have given them the Savastore customer list. o8O~

Has ANYONE had good support from Novatech? by David N
I have yet another problem with our Novatech (Mitac) laptop. It needs to go back - agreed over the phone, but I was to phone back when all data was backed up and to say if I needed them to send me any packaging. Now I can't get in touch with them other than their rip-off phone line. Only open...

Ordering and VAT - What I forgot to mention... by Michael
....was that my mother, who I am ordering the laptop for, lives abroad, but in the EU. So she is a registered business but not in the UK, which means she should not have to pay VAT, right? Thanks to everyone who replied in such detail to my original posting and sorry I left out this vital piece...
