Packard Bell 200mmx Legend 1710__ Is it OK upgrade to 98? by
~A_Sammy
Hi,
I have an old PB up and running win 95. Somewhere along the line I remember
something about propriatary modems, etc., and to be careful when changing
anything on them.
Is it OK to upgrade to win98se? Or will that ruin it?
Thanks in advance!

VHS Tapes to DVD Disk by
Jack Bruss
I'm going to put together a computer for my brother, and he is asking if I
can add whatever it takes to allow him to copy old VHS tapes to a DVD disk.
Is there a way to do that, and if so, what hardware and software would be
needed?
Thanks,
Jack

I posted a few posts down about building a pc for mom/grandma. In the post

Dave Williams
Hi everyone
I may have to replace my mobo and I was wondering if the thermal paste
between my CPU and its heat-sink and fan will still be usable if I
separate them then reattach them on the new mobo?

fan noise by
Siren
I have just built a set-top PC using the EPIA M10000 board. It would
have been a complete silent PC if it weren't for the single 40mm CPU
fan. This fan spins at 6800rpm regardless of CPU temp, and is creating
more noise than I would like in a set-top box.
Anyone have experience with noise...

Adding 2nd H/D Question(s) by
????
I just installed Win2000 on my old Win98SE machine.
Using Win98 floppy to boot the machine, then FIDSK to partition and
format(fat36) your HDs anyway you want, then install Win2000, at the very
begining of the installation, Win2000 will ask you whether you want to
repartition or to convert Fat36...
