LG GSA 4040B DVD Writer and Nero 6.0.0 by
\a:\\\
I'm using Nero 6.0.0 and have purchased a new DVD burner, the LG GSA 4040B
burner.
When I'm on the final burning step, Nero recognizes my burner as D: HL-DT-SD
DVDRAM GSA-4040B (CD-R/RW). It doesn't recognize the DVD capability of this
drive. Yet, the burning software that came with the drive...

Why has PC Speed paused at 2,8-3.0 MHZ?? by
zzapper
Hi,
I've been buying PC's since they only had floppies. Each time I've
agonised to get the best price/speed. Each time I've been disappointed
that hardly was the PC out of the box and it was already outdated. I
bought a new Dell Pc last May, and would today buy exactly the same
(only cheaper).
I...

Video Card Suggestions by
zutme
Im looking to drop about $2,000 on a new gaming box. I have decided
on just about everything except graphics card. I am somewhat loyal to
nvidia, but not as loyal as I am to say Coca-Cola, if you know what I
mean. I am slasobuying a mobo with the nforce chipset, which is, of
course, created by...

w2k server keeps locking up by
zliminator
I've got a copy of w2ksvr with sql and ms dot net dev env installed. I can't
reinstall it because I don't have the original copies. It keeps locking up
where the system just freezes and I have to turn off the switch in the back.
I tried putting a drive with Win98 on the same machine and it ran fine...

Athlon 64 Mobos by
zixaq
I'm building a computer for a friend, and he wants something with as
much muscle as possible in the $800 range. I think I've thrown
together a decent system, but I have reservations about the Mobo. From
the reviews I've seen, the SIS 755 chipset is probably the best around
for a socket 754 proc,...

AMD 64 CPU temperatures by

So, I just put together a system with an Athlon64 3000+ (2MHz) on an
MSI K8T-Neo FSR board, with the retail HS and fan and 4 case fans (1
"in" front, 2 out back, 1 "out" side) plus the psu fan. The most
recent bios, which is supposed to give accurate CPU temperatures, is
showing about 55 degrees C...

System Restore Disks by

This may not belong in "hardware," but as it relates directly to the
construction of pcs, I thought this was the best place:
I've taken on the construction of computers for a few friends, and I'm
looking for a way to create a system restore disk similar to those
supplied by the likes of Dell and...

about $30.
A computer techie was saying that this isn't possible.

Asus SmartDoctor and Asus EAX800XT-PE by
Ziggi
Hi!
I've got a very weird problem... I've got an Asus EAX800XT-PE. When reading
the temperatures using ATITool and/or Everest Pro, they inform me that my
GPU idles around 51 and the GfxRam around 41. Under heavy load the GPU rises
to around 57-60 and the RAM about the same.
BUT... When I start up...

AMD64 and RAID 0 by

Hi.
I am planning to buy a system with AMD 64 3400+ with ‘RAID 0' (Compaq
8000z). I want to run Windows XP and FreeBSD on the system. I have
read somewhere that there are compatibility issues with programs (such
as visual studio) in certain AMD64-RAID combinations. If you have any
experience...
