Memory for DG965WH by
PulpZx
Which PC-6400 DDR2 memory should I go with for my Intel DG965WH
motherboard? Intel says 1.8V only, but most memory out there is 1.9 to 2.2v
I want to go with a 2 gig combo. I do not see any options in the bios to
crank up the voltage, and I do have the latest bios version.
Mmmmm what should I...

Xeon 5050 vs 5150 by
Whoever
If one had the choice of two Xeon 5050 processors vs. one 5150 processor,
which is better?
The the system will mostly be running two or three instances of a
large non-threaded application, plus supporting users' desktops (remote
logins via vnc).

Which is faster? by
pt
I'm trying to compare two laptops;
An older Toshiba A10-S177 with an Intel P4 M 2.2 Ghz
and a newer Toshiba A105-S2141 with an Intel Celeron M 410 1.46 Ghz
65 nm 1 MB L2 1.46 GHz 533 MHz
Granted there are many other factors, but generally speaking, which is
the faster CPU and why?

Problems with 865gbf by
[email protected]
Hi all-
Recently my home-built machine with a 865gbf mb from Intel with a
2.4ghz P4 (no HT) stopped booting. It doesn't seem to do
*anything*....no beeps, no video, nothing. The hd spins up, the dvd
drive gets touched (light comes on for a sec) and the IR bottom of the
mouse lights up, but nothing...

I won't get to try out my Seagate HD with NCQ on my new D975BX by
boe
I just purchased a couple of new Seagate hard drives. One arrived DOA. I
can live with the fact one was defective but what I can't live with was the
RMA process. Even though the unit just arrived they said they'll rebuild
it. I asked if they could send me a new one and they said - no -...

partners for coprocessor chip development:
AMD opens Opteron to all some | The Register

It looks like Intel will try to do the same thing next week at its IDF:

Intel backs away from FB-DIMMs by

Intel pulls back from FB-DIMMs
"Intel is telling everyone who will listen that they are going back to
rDIMMs in 2008 over about 90% of their server line. This is due to them
not being able to hit power numbers, seemingly a problem with the tech
itself vs implementations, and of course...

E6600 Pricing by
PB
To the experts out there...
What is the likely price point at which the price of the Intel E6600
processor will reach a plateau? Right now, it is 328.99 at newegg and
has been dropping about $3/week. How much longer will that fall
continue where a purchase will not feel too...

SATA drivers for the D975BX intel controller? by
boe
Hello,
I see the unit came with RAID drivers for the Intel SATA controller as well
as Silicon drivers for the second controller. I know some hardware works
better when using the drivers specifically from the company but the Intel
drivers that came with my system seem to be only if I want to...

D975XBX motherboard with dual graphics adapters by

I'm trying to run two graphics adapters on a D975XBX motherboard, with a
Core 2 Duo processor, on Win XP SP2, so I can run three monitors. I've
tried various graphics adapter combinations (both ATI and NVidia), but
am getting a conflict between them.
The problem may be related to sharing IRQ 16...

Is it OK for retailers to sell engineering sample chips?? by
[email protected]
I bought a chip from an online retailer, and the page and product
description did NOT mention that this chip was an engineering sample
(which it turned out to be.) Here is the description:
"Intel Pentium D 950 3.4GHz 2x2MB (4MB) Dual Core 800Mhz Socket LGA 775
- OEM + FREE HEATSINK/FAN!!!

Hello,
I have an intel D975BX with the latest firmware - 1378 and it keeps crashing

Which one? by
Neil Barras
Celeron 1.7GHz (128K L2) or P4 1.5GHz (256k L2)? The choice will go in a
server for serving websites and use as a LAN fileserver. I'm guessing the
P4? I just wondered if the 200MHz difference would make up for the 128k
cache?
Thanks

Which Core 2 Duo? by

I'm looking at buying a Dell Dimension 9200. The big question is which
processor to get. I basically use my PC for word processing, strategy
games and sometimes a first-person-shooter (nothing much heavier than
America's Army or Battlefield 2). Will the 1.86Ghz E6300 with 2MB be
sufficient, or...
