Jo 100 000 eronnut kirkosta by

Alan arvostuksesta kertoo varsin suoraan se miten alan ammattityöväestö
suhtautuu tekemiseensä. Siitä voidaan ottaa esimerkkejä laajasti.

Hardware Compression for Disk-to-Disk Backups by
[email protected]
I am investigating hardware compression options in a disk-to-disk
backup environment. Does anyone know of any existing solutions which
provide hardware compression with support for disk-to-disk backups on a
Windows 2003 Server running Veritas Backup Exec?
I have only found what appears to be a...

Homebrew Snap Server / Netdisk ? by
Jeff Sutter
Does anyone sell a SnapServer-like kit, where you provide your
own drive(s)?
I'm hoping for a network-attached, not firewire/usb device, in a very
small package, so it can go on the road, that allows drives to appear
as multiple 32g FAT32 partitions, so I can still access them from
Windows 95...

Utility to write huge files instantly??? by
mike
Windows 2000, FAT32 or NTFS.
For testing,
I want a utility to create BIG files ~1GB on storage media
quickly.
Copying a big file is not an option, too slow.
I don't care what's in the file as long
as the OS is happy that it's a "valid" file.
Needs to work thru normal OS drive letters and drivers.

Exposing Windows 2000 Direct Attach Storage Upstream as Fibre Channel by

Does any vendor sell a software product that will expose logical volumes on
a Windows 2000 server as fibre channel targets? I'm looking for block
level sharing of the logical device with other fibre channel hosts.
The Windows 2000 host would act as a replacement for the head end of a...

Compact storage server or storage tower w/ 8 Bays (Min) by
Gaiko
I am trying to find an 8bay (minimum) storage tower that doesn't take
up a ton of space *and* doesn't cost a fortune. The best option would
be a minimally sized self contained box like a via box I read about
(but can't find for sale) (http://www.mswhs.com/2009/10/via-nsd-7800-
review/)
The second...

Adaptec 2410SA SATA Raid 5 : is it a safe choice by
Toto
I intend to build a small server for my (6 Win XP computers) home LAN, to
backup my Data (and store some original documents).
Adaptec 2410SA Serial ATA Raid card seems to be a nice choice in terms of
price : you can use 4 cheap disks in Raid 5 mode to "secure" a capacity of
3. If I understood...

NAS solution, Netapp or EMC by

Hi all,
I am looking for a NAS server to work over NFS for 15-20 pieces of my linux

These servers will be involved in heavy reading and writing (about 30Mbps up
and down each server) of experimental data collected from a network of
probes.
I am thinking of using a NAS solution (I have...

Sorry for the long detailed story.

hearing what other folks are seeing with backup. Hardware, software,
configuration and strategy are set for this...
