Alchohol flushes out clotted jet heads. by micky
I wish I could give his name, but thank you to whoever suggested a paper towel with cleaing "fluid" under the inkjet print heads. It worked. This time it was an Epson but I think it would work for anything. I had tried head cleaning and the other thing several times with no improvement.

How to print a file from the command line? Epson, Brother by micky
Is there a command line that would print one picture from my files using an Epson printer? a Brother printer? I should have thought of this earlier, but I need something to keep the ink jet printers from drying out while I'm gone. Isn't 11 weeks enough time to do that? I thought I'd make a...

EpsonSX205 not pulling paper through by BobH
I realise this might be a long shot, but I've been given an Epson SX205 all in one printer. I am using it in Ubuntu and the printer is immediately recognised , so I put in a few sheets of plain paper into the paper feed tray, and select start on the printer. It then makes a noise and goes into the...

HP P1505 paper pickup problem. by pedro[_3_]
All of a sudden, our trusty P1505N has started picking up 2 or 3 sheets each time. I'm familiar (from years back) with the paper separator pad issue on HP 5L lasers, but haven't started a physical inspection on the 1505. Any pointers?

Oficio paper size - which country? by Gernot Hassenpflug[_4_]
Hello all, A lot Canon printers, including high-end lasers (iR series for example), have instances of localized ppaer sizes. I don't know if that depends on the particular driver installed for the printer, it seems like it is model-dependent (that would be series-dependent, I guess, given the...

LaserJet 2200DN cleaning procedure problem by Percival P. Cassidy
The LaserJet 2200 User Manual describes a procedure for cleaning the printer by feeding through a transparency (preferably) or a sheet of copier paper in a special cleaning mode that is supposed to be initiated by pressing "Go" and "Cancel" until the lights flash, then pressing "Go." I have...

HP LaserJet 2200DN -- dirty mark on second side by Percival P. Cassidy
If I print in duplex mode, I get a dirty mark across the page on the second side. It's the same whether I print from the tray or from the manual feed. Could this be a cartridge problem? It's a years-old remanufactured cartridge, but the dirty marks have only just appeared. Reliable cartridges...

HP Officejet 4630 prints test page but not pdf file. by micky
My brother has an HP Officejet 4630 which describes itself as a wireless printer and maybe a web-based printer, but doesn't use the word wi-fi. He can't print. His computer was slow or errratic and some "repairman" said he needed to upgrade to win10. He paid $130 and when he got the computer...

Default paper size problems with Samsung ML-3710 laser printer by Brian[_8_]
Recently I had a birthday card to print and set the custom paper size to portrait 140x280mm, with a fold across the middle, to produce a 140mm square card when folded. However since then, every time I go to print something it persists in showing the default paper size as the custom 140x280mm,...
