resistor wattage curiosity by JimL[_4_]
I haven't looked at a resistor in 6 or 7 million years, much less use one. But I have one in front of me now that I'm wondering what the wattage is, and I have no clue how to locate such info. The resistor is about 3.5 mm long and 1.7 mm in diameter. Does that tell anything? (It takes a small...

Hard Disk Replacemenr by Jim T.

MOBO E CPU by Dave[_41_]

hard drive seems ok, but the file content changes when copying bigfiles by Bill[_27_]
I bought an Acer X1200 computer about 10 month ago and it didn't work well from day one. Sometimes I found the machine needs to check the file system when I boot it - and the worst is, when I copy big files, the file content changes by itself! The first thing I suspect was virus. But it is NOT. I...

USB Mouse Problem by [email protected]
I now have a new problem with my Jetway K8M8MSR2 motherboard. That motherboard provides PS/2 ports for both mouse and keyboard. The BIOS allows for setting keyboard support to USB. I can find no place to do the same for the mouse. This is important because the computer is connected via a DVI...

I'm wanting to set up a USB external 2.5 inch enclosure that draws power from its own ac adapter. I have a NexStar SX that has a 5v DC input, but it didn't come with an adapter. And it seems there are plenty of output connectors available in 5v adapters, including mini-USB and various...
