One thing I will want to do before hand though is repace the hard drive
through fear of bank details...

USB Keyboard & BIOS by
Mikel Sunova
A while back I bought a MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. Fine. Works,
suits my needs. The only problem was that my keyboard and (Logitech USB
mx610 cordless) mouse were not recognized when I used an Acronis rescue
disk. I updated the bios on the board (badly needed...F3 to F11) and all was...

graphics upgrade by
GT[_5_]
Currently running an ageing PCIe NVidia 7600GS. MB is an Asrock 4CoreDual
which has AGP and PCIe graphics slot. intel Code 2 e6400 CPU + 2GB RAM
(WinXP so no point in more!)
I bought a card from ebay an ATI Radeon 4650. Got it for much cheapness, so
wasn't too bothered that it was basic. Clean...

Asus A6000 (A6GA) dismantle by
Uplbet
On my notebook Asus A6000 series (A6GA) I need to get at the CMOS
battery, in order to replace it since it's running low.
Is there a link offering a dismantle instruction which does make that
battery accessible?
Thanks in advance

resistor wattage curiosity by
JimL[_4_]
I haven't looked at a resistor in 6 or 7 million years, much less use one.
But I have one in front of me now that I'm wondering what the wattage is,
and I have no clue how to locate such info.
The resistor is about 3.5 mm long and 1.7 mm in diameter. Does that tell
anything? (It takes a small...

MOBO E CPU by
Dave[_41_]
Salve

hard drive seems ok, but the file content changes when copying bigfiles by
Bill[_27_]
I bought an Acer X1200 computer about 10 month ago and it didn't work
well from day one. Sometimes I found the machine needs to check the
file system when I boot it - and the worst is, when I copy big files,
the file content changes by itself! The first thing I suspect was
virus. But it is NOT. I...

USB Mouse Problem by
[email protected]
I now have a new problem with my Jetway K8M8MSR2 motherboard.
That motherboard provides PS/2 ports for both mouse and keyboard.
The BIOS allows for setting keyboard support to USB. I can find no
place to do the same for the mouse. This is important because the
computer is connected via a DVI...

Can't find AC adapter by

I'm wanting to set up a USB external 2.5 inch enclosure that draws power

didn't come with an adapter. And it seems there are plenty of output
connectors available in 5v adapters, including mini-USB and various...
