RGB TV output on Radeons? by
-=
I'm gathering together a parts list to build a HTPC. As I'm in Europe, the
best connection I can get to my TV is by RGB SCART.
From what I can tell, the Russians seem to have been able to get RGB TV
output from Radeon cards. However, I haven't been able to find any
information in English. Can...

4870x2 temperature by
-Charlie
I just installed a new Powercolor 4870x2 card and the temps seem a
bit extreme. GPU-Z and ATI Overdrive both show a pretty consistent
85C GPU temp just sitting idle.
Just wondering if this is normal, Or should I be concerned.
Cat 9.2 drivers installed.

I just upgraded to 8.5 and now I have the same problem. "Library" function

Maybe I missed a file - the upgrade required 7 files (from 2 categories) off
the ATI site.
Is there an eighth ?

Old Problem - New to Me - zero display service error by
-_-
As the subject states, I am receiving this "zero display service error"
when I install any of the *display driver only* packages for my ATI X850
video card, PCI-e variety.
I have Googled and found many old posts and tried those remedies but no
luck.
Uninstall.
Safe Mode.
Remove any ATI in...

Radeon All-In-Wonder 9800 PRO?? by
...D.
I am looking to buy soon, & I am just wondering if the All-In-Wonder 9800
Pro is any better than any other 9800 Pro, or is the name just an
advertising gimmick? The explanation I got online somewhere looks
impressive, but maybe it was written a long time ago & was very
enthusiastic. Could any of...

Advice please-computer, video card, & games by

This message is crossposted to 3 newsgroups I just subscribed to:
-microsoft.public.games.discussion-, -alt.comp.periphs.videocards.ati-, &
-alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia-
I have several questions. I have become hooked on computing in a big way,
restarting with a computer over a year ago. (I...

ALL READ: Argh! CAT 3.8 caused me to return my 9800pro! by
..Si..
Ive got a powercolor 9800 pro (since June), it is already bloody overclocked
out of the box at 391/351 from the factory. I installed the 3.8 cats, as we
all do when new drivers come out, and carried on as normal.
Started getting major white dots ("artifacts" I guess!!) in Halo for
example, and...

Doom 3 on an old AIW8500DV by
/mel/
Is anyone running this successfully? By that I mean without locking the
machine up, performance is an issue I'll come to if I can get the thing
running for any length of time.
If you do have a stable system I'd love to know what OS / Catalyst / DirectX
you're using. I'm on 2000 and have tried a...

TV sound issues (okay, let's try this again...) by
/mel/
AIW9800Pro, Catalyst 4.12 and MMC9.03, on AMD64 SIS755/964, XP SP2, 768MB,
Videologic Sonicfury or onboard AC97.
Each time I change channels on the TV app there's an irritating buzz.
Sometimes it goes away and normal sound returns, sometimes it does not go
away, sometimes all sound is lost....

8ms 19in LCD by
/mel/
Has anyone here tried one for gaming yet? Has anyone hooked one up to an ATI
AIW 9800 Pro? So far there's the Hyundai L90D+, though there may be others
with sub-16ms response times.
It's about time I replaced my ageing Dell 19in CRT, but I'm wary of spending
nearly £400, even though that's cheap...

AIW upgrade by
/mel/
I should have realised before spending £300 on an AIW8500DV that it would
cause problems when I came to upgrade. The problem is that now I need faster
3D performance I'm going to have to pay a premium to upgrade the TV aspect
too. I wouldn't mind so much were it not for the fact that by the time I...
