I've been getting some serious errors with Windows XP (sp1) when I use MS Excel. The screen freezes and looks blocky. The only recovery is to reboot. Below is the full error message. I have not been able to figure out what's causing this. I tried totally re-installing MS Office, just in case there...

suggestions for a graphic card purchase by Ron Merts
Definitely the 5600 Ultra, make sure uses the flipchip (or V2.0) GPU and you will get much better performance. There is a review of the Prolink PixelView FX5600 256Mb Golden Limited (http://content.guru3d.com/article.php?cat=review&id=47) that looks promising. Prolink has three 256Mb models and...

Change the "screen saver" with a Profile: How?? by tq96
With Windows 2000 or Windows XP the screen saver should be unique to each user-profile. If you are using Windows 98 or (heaven forbid) Windows Me then I believe it's one screen saver for all. Actually, I think even the 9x series of Windows allows each user to have his own screen...

Faulty card? by Ron Merts
It's possible that there is enough heat being generated but I'd look at the power supply. You probably want something 350W or bigger, preferrably 400-450W. If your P.S. is getting flaky it can cause strange video or other problems as well. Ron "Rob Lee" wrote in...

Problem when updating Nvidia nForce VGA Driver to v4243 by Charles C. Drew
Don't do the update drivers from the Microsoft's Update page. Download the nforce drivers and install them like you normally have to. I have yet to get drivers installed successfully from Microsoft's Update page. If I'm mistaken by what you mean by "MSI Live Update 2" facility, the...

FX5800 Ultra by Scott
All 5800's were built by Nvidia (as well as all 5900's). I think you = should have taken a pass on the 5800 because it was basically a mistake = to ever release it. Even Nvidia jokes about the 5800 and admits its not = a good card. Return it and get the 5900 before its too...

Video Randomly Shutting Down by Ron Merts
Is it that the card goes into sleep mode and refuses to wake up? I have seen that but mostly on older GeForce cards with some newer Detonator 4 drivers. If you suspect a heat problem you can get a Thermaltake Crystal Orb cooler (heatsink and fan combo) for under $20 and replace the heatsink only...
