Sally Vadi
I just tried to order a Dell Desktop System without Windows installed
and asked if I could get Linux installed instead.
After the guy on the other end of the phone stopped laughing, he asked

Common sharing of Open Systems and Mainframe data by
Cooler
Is anyone aware of a product or products that will allow for the
seamless sharing of both of these platforms?
I know HDS has a product that used to be called "RapidXchange" that
allow for the reading of open systems data on a mainframe.
Thanks.

What are other people out there using?
More than likely this will be direct...

I have only found what appears to be a...

Move File Shares by
[email protected]
I have a number of servers I'm migrating to a SAN, including a large
number of file shares (hundreds total). I'm looking for a tool that can
do a move from one file system to another, both maintaining the data

about this?

Archive Snap 4500 by

What is the best way to archive all of the data on a Snap Appliance

Management wants a copy of all data off-site before writing more files.
We have 350GB of data at this time and ~24 hours (Saturday night to
Sunday night) to transfer it to removable media. They don't want us to

seems that this is something that vendors perfer not to advertise, except
when they advertise something like a number of IO/s that are obviously when
it's to/from cache.
Some do have tests that show the performance in...

Moving to HP MSA1000 SAN by

Hello all,
I'm currently investigating a MSA 1000 SAN (including a DL360 server)
solution for my company. Initially, the SAN will be the storage for a
SQL database, that will be running on the DL360, and that has about 25
concurrent users. USER folders will be migrated here also.
I'm planning on...
