single file/driver for fan control by
Phil[_9_]
Hello Gang,
Rather than mess with the entire "service pack" for windows, can anyone tell
me what single driver/file to load for the fan control on the older G1
series like DL380.
Many thanks,

I have a Proliant 5500 Xeon which currently has a pair of SL3CF (2Mb
cache) 550MHz Xeon's. In the UK it's proving difficult to find this

Is it possible to remove this style of heatsink and replace it...

MSA20 for SAS Drives? by
Will
Will the MSA20 external SATA enclosure also work as a 3.5" SAS drive
enclosure? Since the cabling looks the same from the outside, it looks
like all the pins would be connected and it could be used this way?

Trojan Hussar
I have a G1 ML350 happily running Ubuntu 7.04 Server, now I recently
noticed during a RAM upgrade that this has a secondary IDE channel

OT Interesting Note by

Spoke to one of HPs Road Warriors today. Helped him get set-up for some
sales event on the road and what not. He (an reportedly his coworkers) are
really happy with their brand new HP laptops. No surprise there, given
every sales guy loves a new toy, but the when I asked about the OS, it
wasn't...

Looking for servers to hire on internet by
Romanise
During some of previous posts here someone wrote he was renting out
servers online.
British Telecom has started renting out servers with about £75 a month
with Windows2003 on it. Speed assured is 100mbs.
Would like to hear of any such facility in USA.

MSA1500 with 300GB SATA? by
Will
Does anyone know if the MSA1500 will accept DiamondMax 10 300 GB SATA
drives? Compaq appears to have part numbers for 160GB, 250GB, and 500GB
SATA drives. Many of these are implemented as DiamondMax 10 drives. I'm
hoping they didn't hardwire recognition of the drives to a particular size...

DL385 SAS is Fast! by
Will
We did our first Windows 2003 64-bit install to a DL385 with a single dual
core 2.2 processor and 73 GB 10K SAS drives. The drives were impressively
fast, and I was a bit surprised considering the toyish 2.5" form factor.
We had the boot device configured as two 73GB drives in RAID 1+0.

Many of the Compaq / HP Windows 2000 driver downloads only contain .CAT,

Converting DL585 G1 to SAS by

Has anyone here converted a DL585 G1 to SAS? I see a part number
379090-B21 to convert the backplane to SAS, but does this include the new
drive cage as well? Am I going to need any other part number(s) to
complete the conversion?

Upgrade options on 1850 by
Scott
over the weekend my proliant 1850 refuse to post. I suspect either the
motherboard or CPU. So now I have a good excuse to upgrade the mobo/CPU
(PII or III, 500Mhz) which leads me to my question...what are my upgrade
options? And does the mobo uses a common form factor?
Thanks
