What hardware do I need for DSL and two PCs? by
[email protected]
Hi group.
I just signed up with EarthLink DSL service, (don't know how good there
service is,) but anyway; I have two PCs and I'm wondering what hardware
I would need in order to set up to use the DSL service for both of them.
Any help and advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

Intel 875PBZ & ECC RAM by

Anyone use this combination of Board/RAM? I have the Corsair XMS series RAM
and am considering switching to ECC for stability rather than absolute
speed.

Everything I've ever read has recommended turning Off SMART, as it slows
down the performance significantly and any benefits outweigh the cons.
I've used only WD drives for the past 15 years and never found the need
for SMART (I know it hasn't been available That long!!)

Run a repair install, from the Win2K disc (if you have it).
This is accomplished by: Booting from the CD. Running setup. When asked

then ask you if you want to repair or blow it all away and do a fresh

Do newer 7200 rpm HDD really need a separate cooling fan ? by
John Smith
Excue me for being stupid but... how does a bit of software know the
temperature of the HD? A fan or mobo needs some kind of sensor? The HD has
no sensor so how does the software know the temperature? Oops, I asked that
already!

One of the problems with IC's is that there is a significant capacitance to
