How do I format a dvdrw to play in a dvd recorder by
Bob H[_4_]
Sorry if this is the wrong NG to post this.
I have searched google for this, but I'm no where near finding out how
to format a dvdrw disc so as it plays in my dvd recorder.
The recorder doesn't have the facility to format discs, so I thought
nero would be able to do so, no it can't, only erase,...

CD/DVD software by
limey
My computer came with a program called Cyberlink DVD Solution. The
program is broken into Power2Go, Power2Go Express, and PowerDVD.
I've tried six ways from Sunday to back up my Quicken "Backup" file to a
CD. It will burn OK but if I reinsert it later to read it it wipes out
all the current...

archival-grade gold CD? by
Steve T
Niece had photos burned to CD by Costco that had this statement on the
jacket:
"Your pictures have been burned to an archival-grade gold CD. When stored
and handled properly, your pictures can be preserved for up to 300 years. "
There is no brand name on the CD. Anybody point me to a brand or...

DVD+RW identified as DVD-ROM by
Leon Nabot
Hi,
I'm experiencing a very annoying problem.
I tried to test my new DVD+/-RW writer writing some ISO images with
Blindwrite on DVD+RWs and I discovered later that the wrote medias
are not recognized anymore as re-writable medias but as DVD-ROM (Nero Info
tools).
So, now I'm unable to re-use...

data and audio CDs? by
Smokesipper
A neighbor gave me a blank CD to save some computer files. I've used
disks from that box to record music, but I the computer hasn't let me
record data.
Online I found advice to somebody with a similar problem: are you sure
you're using a data CD? I hadn't known there was a difference. A big...

Plextor PX-708UF problems with CD, but not DVD by
bruha
I have a Plextor external PX-708UF drive where inserting
a CD (burned, blank, or manufactured stamped) does not get
recognized. The light on the burner turns off and Windows
does not think anything is there.
However if I load a DVD (burned, blank, or stamped), it
works fine.
Is there a separate...

Burnproof by
Tim Kroesen
Ideally, it should make no difference; since your system and config
should permit burning at full speed *most* any format without data
under-run to the drive. Should under-run occur; as perhaps your burning
audio drive to drive on the fly beyond available DAE, the burn will be
suspended and...

I'm not here to tell anyone what to buy and what not to buy, but I
thought that if someone was curious they might find some wisdom in my

avoid any Digital Research / IOMagic / BenQ / BTC drives. It seems all
these companies...

recommendations for cdr media? by

I've seen problems with different brands. Recently a friend
had problems with Imation CDRs burned on a Plextor 32/12/40A
I used Kodak CDRs for a number of years without a problem.
I've burned their 12x and 16x as fast as 24x! I still have a
few spindles left that I use for important technical...
