the new xp 3200.

Athlon 64 3200+ price drops today by
Wes Newell
With the introduction of the A64 3400+, the 3200+ has dropped to $270
(from about $400). The $270 price is from Newegg. It's now lower in price
than the XP 3200+ ($299) which is considerably slower.

More proof that Intel sucks by
Godzilla Pimp
I have been building AMD's for a few yrs but made the mistake of buying a
Celeron 2.3GHZ 256MB Dell Latitude ($600 new). What a dog! Decoding Naked
News at the maximum bitrate in WMP takes 100% of the processor.
A T-Bred 1700+ running @2000+ (1.67GHz) uses only 15%.
And it feels so slow, even...

Synchronize vs. non-synchronize FSB/Memory speed? by
Ohaya
Hi,
I've seen numerous posts indicating that it's best to synchronize the CPU
FSB and memory bus speeds (i.e., 1:1 ratio), and I've been "experimenting"
and have some questions that I hope that you all can help with. This
experimentation is mainly for educational purposes (my own), so please...

Cooper or gold heatsink? by
Peter Hucker
I have one of those fancy reserators - water cooler. The supplied heatsink block for the processor is gold plated (copper underneath I think). I bought another for the 2nd cpu, and they would only supply the plain copper one. Now I thought the gold was better - that's the way they advertise it. ...

My AQXEA Barton 2500+ @ 2.2GHz (NF7-S v2.0) by
Wayne Youngman
Hi all,
I just got to the stage where I am 100% satisfied that my system is working
great at stock settings. I have tested the memory timings, and I have
tested my FSB above 200MHz.
Now I am working on overclocking my cpu. When I first switched up to 11 x
200MHz from default 2500+ all I did to...

Slightly OT...gaming video card question by

Yeah I know I'm kinda OT here but I know there are some gamers here and I
need some video card advice.
Here's the deal. A while back I built my new PC with DVD authoring in mind
so it just has the bare minimum for what I need for that.
Now my old machine (XP2100, 512 meg, Soyo Dragon) is just...

Dual Channel Memory on Single Channel boards? by
Rich Lowe
If I buy memory in a dual channel pack (2x512MB) it will still work
alright in a single channel board right? The memory is:

And my motherboard is an MSI K8N Neo Platinum

Differences between Thunderbird, Palomino, Barton ? by
liaM
It seems possible to purchase Atlon XPs at equal PR ratings
yet different types......
What's different about them, say for a processor with a rating
of 1800 ?
Oh yes.. what does the + sign after the 18OO signify ? What are
series 6 or 8 athlons ?
