AMD CPU Identification. by
Johan
Longish story short - I need to know what type of CPU I've got in my
computer, and I don't really know how to go mucking around inside there
(e.g. ripping out the fan). I've been told it's a 2700+, but it's showing up
as a 2000+ with a 1667 clock speed, FSB set to 133MhZ. The AMD "CPU

HS/F for an XP2600+? by
Tin-Char D'un
Anyone like to offer any opinions here? My 2600+ is running at 45C idle and
that doesn't leave a lot of room for overclocking... Looking for a good
heatsink and fan that'll keep it well cool, preferably from a UK retailer.
Any thoughts? What are most of you using at the moment?...

Overclocking XP2600+ (FSB333) on MSI KT3 Ultra2 board by

I have bought a XP2600+ (FSB 333) processor and would like to
overclock it on my KT3 Ultra2 board. I am using PC2700 memory. I have
tried to change the multiplier from 12.5 to 14 in the bios but the
system is only recognising it as a 863Mhz processor (multiplier 5x)
for some reason. I don't think...

at least one fan blowing air in at the bottom/front and one fan sucking
air
out at the top/rear. You can see if case ventilation is a problem by
running
with the side off, if this drops your temp you need better ventilation
and what if the temp is rising? i mean when i remove side panel,...

Any thoughts on 64bit computing and overclocking the new generation of chips? Just wondering what you all think about Apple's new G5 versus AMD's 64 bit offering due out for the home desktop market in September. Obviously you'd have a hard time overclocking an Apple but the new machine looks like...
