A problem with VueScan *.51 by Robert Peirce
Every once in a while I get a weird red color shift on a scan. I am using an Epson 2450 fire-wired to a Mac G4 PowerBook. The first time it happened I thought I had my ICC setup wrong and re-installed it. The next time it happened, the Preview was fine and the Scan color-shifted. Consequently, I...

Only Epson ink for 1270? by Bailey
I have ordered two different brands (and three different cartridges) of "Epson Compatable" ink from ebay over the past several months and none of them worked in my 1270. Sometimes if I would clean the jets, they would print fine for a few pages and then start skipping colors again. It's not just...

A problem with VueScan *.51 by Robert Peirce
When I try to calibrate my printer (Canon S520), I get a red shift. I am using an Epson 2450 and a Mac G4 PowerBook. If I open the scan in Preview and print from there using ColorSync it comes out pretty well. What is going on in VueScan? -- Robert B. Peirce, Venetia, PA ...

Not happy with Brother HL1440 by Windwatcher
I bought this printer a month or so ago and find it the trickiest, fussiest printer I ever had. Don't understand how it's so highly rated. Too many times I click to print, and it doesn't print until I fool around with it, sometimes turning power off and on. Signals paper jams when there...

Fixing paper jam on microlaser pro 300 (UK) by James
Has anyone managed to sort out a paper jam on one of the above printers? The paper doesn't seem to get very far because it isn't concertinaed at all when I open the tray. This thread makes me think I might have to bin the printer: http://fixyourownprinter.com/printer/1/471.html Any...

Tektronix Phaser 350 Printer upgrade by Brian W
I bought a second-hand Tektronix Phaser 350 printer from an office clearout sale. At the time I got the impression that it would print at 600x300 dpi, but it turns out that the 600x300 resolution applies only to the extended features upgrade. The printer I bought has only 17 fonts, therefore it...

Turning Off the HP Photosmart 7350 by Rick Kowalski
My last printer was an Epson and it had to be powered off at the Printer On/Off switch each time you used it in order to properly park the heads so the cartridges didn't clog. I'd prefer to be able to power on/off my new HP 7350 from my master surge center switch along with everything else or just...

reinking machine by Pete Premock
Not sure why you want a machine for refilling Epson & Canon cartridges. I bought a machine that fills all HP & Lexmark under vacuum for $1400.00. I'm sure you can also refill the Epson & Canon with it. I haven't tried it because these cartridges are so inexpensive. Pete "Joann"...

I have had an Epson 1520 color printer for some time and have added a roll adapter but can only find the Epson 16.5" roll paper. I am trying to get 8.5" and or 11" roll paper. PSC 2110: Windows XP & Mac OS X (cross posted to comp.sys.hp.hardware) by Mark Simon
I have a Hewlett Packard PSC 2110 connected to a Macintosh running OS X 10.2.6, with printer sharing turned on. I know this works, since another Mac on the network happily prints to it, and my Linux box also recognises it. The uri, from the perspective of the other machines is something...

Canon i950 by Gary Todd
After reading the manual, it appears that one can not print a landscape image, such as a panorama, greater than 11 inches wide. True? If not, Costco prices a 8 x 12 for $2, 11 x 14 and 12 x 18 for $3. Pretty cheap. Thanks for any info

Canon i850 vs Canon S820 by Vorpal Chortler
I have a laser for b&w printing. I need a cheap photo printer, and after some research I've narrowed it down to these two. The S820 is going cheaper and has 6, not 4, cartridges. But the i850 has higher resolution, newer tech, and is maybe faster. Comments invited.

Curently on our network we have HP's, Lexmark's, print share boxes etc, so there is no standard. I know that there is a HP utility but I am not sure if it will return...
