Power supplies? by
Yousuf Khan
It's possibly time to upgrade my power supply. Haven't shopped around
for one in ages. What's the new features that I have to look for these
days? My last PS was a 450W ATX from maybe 5 years ago. I expect my new
one would have to be at least 500W now.
I'm thinking I should get one with the...

news: Intel to pay AMD $1.25 billion, settle disputes by
Yousuf Khan[_2_]
Intel pays AMD $1.25 billion, renews their cross-license agreement for
another 5 years, and drops any breach-of-contract lawsuits against AMD
(for spinning off its manufacturing arm into Global Foundaries). AMD is
now free to become completely fab-less. Some sort of private dispute
arbitrating...

This news has made AMD'ers happy by
Yousuf Khan
Seems that for one week this past month, there were more AMD-based desktops
sold than Intel-based.
http://www.technewsworld.com/story/hardware/33636.html
For the week ending April 24th, 52% of retail desktops were AMD, and only
47% were Intel. Minor, temporary victory? Absolutely. Just a victory...

Questions about DDR RAM by
Igor
I'm planning to add some memory to a PC. The motherboard supports "DDR up
to 333 MHz (enhanced) memory bus."
333 MHz (PC2700) or slower DDR SDRAM isn't easy to find on today's market,
and when you do find it, it's considerably more expensive than the DDR
which runs at 400 MHz (PC3200). What...
