[email protected]
Considering a Latitude and interested in the UPEK® Fingerprint Reader
option. Is it integrated onto the notebook or is it a separate unit?
Anyone with experience with them for use and reliability?
Thanks

Dell LCD monitors - E1503 vs E152FPc by
P.Schuman
Looking to pick up a flat panel monitor for using with our Dell C610 laptops...
Dragged up an old 15" CRT and put it on the desk,
so I can do homework....
I have (primary) laptop screen for Word doc,
and CRT screen for web searching, AIM, etc.
On eBay ran across the usual E1503FP and a couple...

Two questions on Inspiron 1720 by
Buta-san 505
Hi all,
I just bought a refurb 1720 notebook from the Dell outlet. I have purchased
several desktops from the outlet in past and never had a problem.
Anyway, I found a unit with the configuration I wanted for a good price. The
only problem is that the installed RAM is only 1GB. My understanding...

Vista Home Premium vs Vista Business by
n o s p a m p l e a s e
I live in non-English speaking part of Europe and want to buy a Dell
desktop with English OS. What Dell rep tells me is that their machines
being sold in the country is not compatible (something I don't
understand but I have to believe him) with English version of Vista
Home Premium.
He will offer...

Aha! (recording) by
Ron Hardin
Cygwin under XP lets you set the priority of RealProducer (real network's free
recording software) to ``real time'', finally getting rid of the Warning System
Is Overloaded and missed time segments (I hope).
nice --adjustment=-20 producer -ac 0 -am voice ...
``Normally'' it runs at normal...

Extra $50 for colour laptop! by
georgie
Even though many complained about Dell's slow delivery of those new
painted laptops, at least they didn't cost extra. But now they do!
An extra $50 bucks for the paint job! Whew!

Dell E310 JC474 motherboard USB issue by
[email protected]
My son's been offered a Dell E310 for cheap. The problem is that the
computer won't finish booting because the USB mouse & keyboard aren't
detected. We assume that the USB port was fried and that a motherboard
replacement is needed. Online I see this motherboard offered for ~
$125. What we were...

Buying Vostro as Retail (not Bidness) Customer by
R2D2
So I'm thinking about buying Vostro instead of Inspiron (1420 or
1520). I called Dell and they told me they can sell to me as long as
I'm a credit card customer.
My question is: am I gonna have problems with the software? In other
words, will its be Vista's Business Edition that's gonna be...

Is "PCI-X" and "64-bit PCI" the same thing ? by
Fred Mau[_2_]
I'm playing around with a surplus PowerEdge 1400SC, dual 1.4 processors.
I'm thinking it might do adequately as an inexpensive file server for my
office if I can stick a SATA RAID card in it like an Adaptec 1420SA and a
couple of cheap SATA drives.
The Adaptec 1420SA goes in a "PCI-X" slot. The...
