What I get to p/u today... by
Rick F.
I guess I was lucky monitoring my craigslist RSS feeds for Compaq "stuff"..
I've been looking for some spare 36.4Gb 1" SCA/SCSI drives just in case any
of mine fail to reduce/eliminate downtime. Anyway, I almost bought one off
ebay last weekend for $40/shipping (~$55 total). So, someone yesterday...

Lessons learned: Proliant Memory by
VinceV
I just wanted to share an important lesson I learned this week about
the incompatibilty of memory between Proliant systems.
This is a tale of a lad with who acquired a Proliant 1850 sans ram. A
quick trip to HP.com and I determined (or so I thought) the type of ram
I needed.

Can anybody tell me the name of those spring-loaded knurled-headed
screws that are press-fitted into the front panels of the ProLiant rack
servers, used to secure said beast into said rack?
I'm trying to get hold of a few to fill in the holes in a couple of
machines and it would help if I knew...

Converting RAID 0 to RAID 1 DL380 G2 by
Will
I have a boot device in ID=0 on a DL380 G2 currently configured by the Smart
5si RAID controller as RAID 0. Is it possible to insert a second
identical device and reconfigure the existing RAID 0 volume to RAID 1
without losing data?

Compaq ProLiant 4500 by
Mike Kieffer
I have retired several ProLiant 4500 servers. I am currently selling the
parts from them on eBay. If you have ProLiant 4500 and need some spare
parts, you can get them at a deal.

Compaq Proliant 800 PPro sever set up by

I inherited a Compaq Proliant 800 Pentium Pro server. Initially it came

power supply on it died and I had to transfer the drive to another
machine while I...

144 vs 288 megabit Rambus Memory in W8000 by
CHANGE USERNAME TO westes
How significant is the effective performance difference between 144 Mb and
288 Mb RAMBUS memory in the Compaq W8000? Why don't they allow 288 Mb
memory in all four memory slot pairs?
