Nero Back-Ups by Gary
Hi, My CD-RW came bundled with Nero Express 5.5. I only use it to back up directories full of text files, Microsoft Access and Excel files. My only problem is that if I backup 10 megs of files, 22 or 25 megs of the CD is used up. Is there anything I can do about this? Gary

reading cd's by species8350
Hi, I use a Samsung combo sm-304b drive. Firmwa BS05 I have a lot of trouble reading music cd's. Can anyone suggest some alternative software or firmware that would improve the reading capability of my drive. If it also improves the writing capability as well, all the better.

A data CD I burn't freezes the computer. by half_pint
Usually when burning data CD's I eject the disk and then re-read it to ensure "it works OK" before I delete the files from my computer. Anyway I added a extra file to an almost full CD and when I tried to re-read it it 'froze' my computer, requiring a reboot. I have tried to read the CD several...

Difference between CDRs and CDRWs by Evi
I have a TEAC CD-W54E installed with Windows 2000. I ran out of my pack of CDRs and bought some CDRWs but I can't seem to format them. My CD drive doesn't recognise that I have anything in it. But my old CDRs still work fine (although I don't have any blank ones left to test the formatting). I am...

The drive is a 52X LITE-ON and the other drive was an older 8X HP drive. Both were working before I put them in the PC. I installed the HP first. I received a power calibration error. So I tried the HP in another computer. Same error. I repeated this process with the Lite-on drive (assuming...

Keeping a drive clean by Eddy Long
Hello all, What is the most efficient way to clean a DVD and a CD drive in our computer? Is there a product - kind of like a head cleaning tape for a VHS player - on the market that you can recommend? How often should it be done? Any recommended products?
