Slide adapter by
Tim V.
I'm looking to buy a multi-function printer/scanner/copier unit and I'm
waffling between the Epson CX6600 and the RX500. The latter comes with
a negative scanning 'attachment' and the former does not. If I opt for
the CX, are there any adapters I can get to scan negatives and slides...

Just what is best ? by
Mike
I need to buy a new computer monitor. I have been looking at the older CRT
and the newer LCD types. Which is better for graphics work ?
I need a monitor that is accurate for graphics work, and can display a
graphics image just as it was rendered. Any recommendations ?

Larger Format Scanner by
josh
It would appear that every scanner in the low to moderate cost range has the
same legal size scan limitation. I scan a lot of books for Ebay and being
able to lay a 12" x 10" book completely flat is a common need. So I'm
looking for scanner with a very modestly larger bed without an...

HP Deskjet 610C & Scanjet 3200C by
Karen Gill
Hi folks
I have just updated a PC to Xp from a Dell with Win98SE to XPSP2 & have to
fit a HP Deskjet 610C printer and HP Scanjet 3200C scanner to a pass-thru'
parallel port (LPT1)
Is there any particular sequence to do this?
I think the best way is to install the printer & ensure it works,...

Canon 4200F or Epson 3170? by
Tim L
I want to use the scanner both for scanning photos and some mounted 35 mm
slides.
Both these scanner have similar resolutions 3200 x 6400, both scan
transparancies, and they have similar prices (4200F GBP 100.00 and 3170 GBP
125.00 or so).
I think the Epson is being discontinued, while the Canon...

trouble with Umax Astra 1200S; which scanner for beige Mac? by
Hello everyone,
In order to scan photographs for my W3 site www.macfanaat.cistron.nl I
bought last month a Umax 1200S for my Power Mac 7100/80 AV, based on
reviews which put Agfa and Umax scanners on top. Installing the software
was problem-free.
My PM 7100's SCSI chain looks like this (without...

Mustek 1200 III EP undetectable in any image program by
Raymond A. Chamberlin
In the past, this old scanner has occasionally complained about its
Twain interface after some scanning but would work again after a warm
computer restart. The lid-detect function always worked, though I
couldn't use it.
Now, suddently, using any image program, including the one supplied
with it...

Odd problem with HP 4P by
Doug
I had one of those, seems to me that it only went to 300 dpi. Anyways I sold
it and bought an HP 6100 ( pretty much like an HP 4c, only newer ) with ADF
for $40.
These are 600 dpi and are built like a tank, almost as big and heavy too!
This information and $1.25 will get you a coffee somewheres. I...

Hello,
I've been using a scanner Microtek Phanton 4800 for 5 years now under

I'm connecting it to my PC with a SCSI/USB1 adaptor from Entrega and it has

Hi
Ive used the above scanner without problem for about 2 years..however
out of the blue when I started it the other day the "warming up the

scanner in librarery by
Paulito
Hi,
what you would recommend to scan several pages from books in library into my
notebook ?
Few years back there were hand held scanners in use but the quality was bad
so they don't exist anymore. What is the current solution for this issue ?
