The cables for the buttons and lights! by
oneandonlygiles
I've just been moving an old motherboard into a old case for a friend
(as I like my case) and stupidly I didn't remember where those
annoying little cables that power the lights and buttons fixed in. Is
this standard, if so where do they go?

PCU fan making a weird noise by
Loopsided
I have a Fortron 350w PSU that's a few years old and recently the fan has
started making this weird mechanical noise. I tried taking it apart, but
there's no way the fan can be removed. I tried lowering the speed of the
fan, but that didn't help.
Would it be advisable to maybe try to carefully...

I lost a PSU in a system that I built about a year ago. The stock PSU
came with the case and is some cheap "450 watt" Asian brand (Okia?).
This is a P4 powered system based on an Asus P4GE-MX mobo. The PSU was
making some fan noise over the past couple of weeks.
At any rate, I started a download...

directories on C: drive by
MikeM
I have just noticed several directories in the root directory of C:
drive. I checked the names with Google and the ones I've checked are
all apparently valid directories used by windows XP or installed
programs. I have just had a low disk space warning and rebooted and
cleaned up the C: drive....

Advantages of more memory for a specific work? by
Wizzard
I have 2 x 512mb Kingston memory, XP Pro, AMD 64 3700+, 2 fast drives
and AIT AIW 9800 pro
I have captured in MPEG2 format and will need to convert these to DVD
format (i.e. VOB files etc.)
Will I benefit from more memory? Also, what are the advantages of
going over 1gb of memory?

(A) Is there any consistency in where various motherboards have their
"system" or "case" temperature probe ... the one read by the mobo maker's
software ... or by programs like Mother Board Monitor or SpeedFan ?
(B) Is this a reading of the chipset (not the CPU) temperature ever given...

I have an ABIT KV7 mobo and the northbridge fan has gone out.
I've been looking around for a replacement, and can't find an online

Then I found this link:

and this seems to say you CAN'T buy a replacement fan for it!
Can anyone...

I have a 2 boxes containing 3 pcs of WinXP Home and Pro each - brand
