19" CRt Monitor Wanted . by Stuart
My 21" Dell that I got a couple of years ago recond has died it would seem as a ghost image has appeared and is doing my eyes in. Much as I would love another 21" I think cost wise I'm going to have to settle for a 19" . Can anyone recommend a model that isn't too expensive .. Stuart

Help: How thread box-sealing tape in handheld dispenser? [OT] by Cori
This may sound odd and is slightly off-topic. I got a bargain on a handheld box tape dispenser which is similar to this http://snipurl.com/l6my. It takes 50mm (2 inch) adhesive tape and is used for sealing boxes. I'm not at all sure I have threaded the tape correctly because the loose end seems...

Sods law by Dr Teeth
Looking for a Samsung ML 2250 laser printer. Sods law, can only find it at retailers that I'd rather not do business with, eg Microwarehouse, E-Buyer... Anybody know a decent retailer that sells it? I've exhausted my bookmarks. -- Cheers,

I hope you guys might be able to help me. Does anyone know where in the UK I can get a machine which makes relaxing sounds such as the sound of waves, bird calls, running water, and so on? I figured Maplin might have something like this but my choice of search-words on their web site finds...

Novatech by Martin
On Dec 9th, I bought an Epson 1520 printer for £317 +vat. I got a confirmation email for delivery 19th. Today, the 21st, when I moaned about late delivery, I was told the price was now £444 + vat. I think that is grubby practice and I told them what to do with the printer. Is this normal...

[OT] URL to query Google UK streetmap by Mullo
Off topic. The technical specialists here may be able to help me. Google streetmap for the UK seems to have some sort of protection. I can't easily find a URL which will allow me to embed in it my search value in order to find a street. For example, with regular Google I can use the following...

vendor question - sorry if this shows twice. by Andrew Cowper
Hi - Has anyone used www.advancetec.co.uk ("Advance Technologies") lately? I'm looking at an Asus barebones system (pundit ph3). They're about 10 pounds more than www.microdirect.co.uk, but microdirect seem to take a fair bit of stick here for their after sales service... Thanks for any...

How to avoid meeting delivery promises by [email protected]
As a supplier of computer stuff, if you do not want to live up to your promises of next day delivery, here's how to do it. Tell the buyer that their credit card order is "Awaiting authorisation". And leave it like that for several days. Of course, the buyer may not believe you, because they often...

MESH Computers - help required please by [email protected]
I (foolishly) ordered a system on behalf of my sister for her 11 year old son as his Xmas present. He has been saving up his pocket money all year to put towards it and between them they managed enough to get a decentish new system. They did however leave it a bit late in ordering but eventually...
