Regarding IDE Primary/Slave and orientation of cable.... by
ZigZag Master
It has just come to my attention that manufactures label their 2 device IDE
cables with the Slave in the middle and the Master at the end of the cable.
Considering the fact that most peoples CDROM/DVD drives are physically above
the hard drives, this creates a small cable routing problem.
So, 2...

ZigZag Master
Hey,
I'm thinking of returning my NF7-S and trade it for the A7N8X because of the
problems I was having with the Radeon AiW 9700 Pro.
Does the Asus board have built in digital output for audio?
This review http://www.hightekpc.com/reviews/a7n8x.html says it does, and it
shows a picture of the...

MCP-T vs. MCP2-T - from Sharkey Extreme by
ZigZag Master
From a review of the Abit NF7-S on Sharkey Extreme
The MCP, or Media Communications Processor, part is a bit more detailed, and
NVIDIA offers several different Southbridge versions. The ABIT NF7-S uses
the higher-end MCP-T chip, which includes basic ATA133, LAN and 6-channel
audio features, as...

AMD fans by
Zilla
I'm replacing my Palomino with a Barton CPU; the chip itself on the
Palomino is square, while the Barton is rectangular. I believe my
current fan came with the Palomino CPU, so it has a square pad
underneath. Will the fan work for the Barton too, or am I better off
buying a new fan?

Software to control PCI/AGP divider possible? by
zmike6
I'm ignorant of how the hardware design works, but given that some
software (like softFSB and coolCPU) can control FSB speed
independently of motheboard settings, is it possible for software to
directly or indirectly control PCI/AGP speed via a "software" divider?
My MSI motherboard was indicated...

Defective CPU or mobo ? by
Zotin Khuma
Over the past 12 months, I've built more than 30 systems based on
boxed Athlon XP processors and Asus A7N266-VM mobos, and never had any
problem until very recently. One new CPU, a 2000+ Thoroughbred, failed
completely (confirmed by cross-substitution), giving continuous
high-low BIOS beeps....

Kobian KT133 FSX - CPU detect problem by

Last Monday, lightning struck a friend's house and damaged several

some chips on the mobo were literally blown up. I removed the

close friend and fairly...

Hi.

bios for the 7VAX-A which is very similar in layout to my board but is based
on the KT400A chipset. Has anyone seen one for my board?
Any help...
