Chipsets compatible with Core 2 Duos? by
Yousuf Khan
I was out trying to price some components for an upgrade of my desktop
system (Athlon XP 1900+ system with AGP) to something with a PCIe
connector. Of course that now means I'll have to swap out the processor,
RAM and motherboard too. I am open to an Intel Core 2 Duo, it would
probably be my...

Which Core 2 Duo? by
skyf
I'm looking at buying a Dell Dimension 9200. The big question is which
processor to get. I basically use my PC for word processing, strategy
games and sometimes a first-person-shooter (nothing much heavier than
America's Army or Battlefield 2). Will the 1.86Ghz E6300 with 2MB be
sufficient, or...

Which one? by
Neil Barras
Celeron 1.7GHz (128K L2) or P4 1.5GHz (256k L2)? The choice will go in a
server for serving websites and use as a LAN fileserver. I'm guessing the
P4? I just wondered if the 200MHz difference would make up for the 128k
cache?
Thanks

Intel D975BX keeps rebooting in Windows XP SP2 by
boe
Hello,
I have an intel D975BX with the latest firmware - 1378 and it keeps crashing
within 30 minutes of being in Windows. I can have it completely idle -
running nothing or doing an install or running an app - doesn't matter
crashes no matter what it is or isn't doing.
I've disabled the onboard...

Is it OK for retailers to sell engineering sample chips?? by

I bought a chip from an online retailer, and the page and product

"Intel Pentium D 950 3.4GHz 2x2MB (4MB) Dual Core 800Mhz Socket LGA 775
- OEM + FREE HEATSINK/FAN!!!

I'm trying to run two graphics adapters on a D975XBX motherboard, with a

tried various graphics adapter combinations (both ATI and NVidia), but
am getting a conflict between them.

SATA drivers for the D975BX intel controller? by

Hello,
I see the unit came with RAID drivers for the Intel SATA controller as well
as Silicon drivers for the second controller. I know some hardware works
better when using the drivers specifically from the company but the Intel
drivers that came with my system seem to be only if I want to...

E6600 Pricing by
PB
To the experts out there...
What is the likely price point at which the price of the Intel E6600
processor will reach a plateau? Right now, it is 328.99 at newegg and
has been dropping about $3/week. How much longer will that fall
continue where a purchase will not feel too...

Intel backs away from FB-DIMMs by

Intel pulls back from FB-DIMMs
"Intel is telling everyone who will listen that they are going back to
rDIMMs in 2008 over about 90% of their server line. This is due to them
not being able to hit power numbers, seemingly a problem with the tech
itself vs implementations, and of course...
