CCL disappointment by
DrTeeth
Got a bit of kit today from CCL.
The box had a sticker on it which said something like "checked for
quality control". The sticker was placed so that opening the box would
rip it.
I immediately phoned CCL and asked if the box had been opened. I was
told that it had. I asked if the item (a graphics...

Where should I buy a GeForce 6600GT from? by
Interesting Ian
I'm wanting to buy a GeForce 6600GT, preferably online. Any recommendations
as to where I should buy it from? Also ideally I would like to have the
option of returning it should it transpire it doesn't work with the rest of
my system. Do online retailers tend to allow you to do this?

searching a laptop without Microsoft software by
Joris Gillis
Hi everyone,
For the past few days, I've been fruitlessly looking for a laptop that fits my demands; can you put me on the right track?
I am looking for a desktop replacement laptop (any brand) with a Windows 2000 or XP OS, but without any Microsoft Works or Office. You read that right, I do not...

day. They haven't dispatched my items. They don't respond to emails or
their telephone number.
Today I checked their website and found this message, which they must
have posted on the 03/08.

Looking for a new PC by
IE
Hi,
Looking to replace an ageing PIII 450 128 RAM (circa 1999) with something
more powerful that can run Linux (with KDE) comfortably. Budget is £500.
Can anyone suggest what I might buy for this sort of money please? Processor
to go for? Minimum RAM etc etc?
Many thanks.

Aria - avoid like the plague! by
Hellraiser
Aria.co.uk - absolutely bloody useless.
Ordered some RAM from them back in early April, it never arrived. Emailed
them and after a week they said it had been sent via Royal Mail, therefore
I'd have to wait 15 working days until they could accept it had been lost in
the post. Fair enough, though...

Emails to Dabs by
Keef
Have tried emailing the following addresses since Tues 9 Sept., without any
response :-
webaccounts@ enquiries@ CS@beta. (all followed by dabs.com)
Is the chap from Dabs still reading this newsgroup?
As it happens my order isn't urgent, but are Dabs intertested in selling
parts or not?

Citylink in good service shocker... by
Lee J. Moore
The only reason I've ever been reluctant to order from Tekheads
is their use of City Link as courier. I've personally had
damaged parcels (Insight/City Link) and heard about digital
cameras (original order and then the replacement) going missing
from my local depot.
Service locally (I'm served by...

Dabs bloody website by

I'm trying to use dabs.com at the moment but it's so painful that I'm
going to vent some frustration here.
Dabs have been around quite a while, they are a major, if not the
leading, UK based online IT retailer. You would think then that they
might have some idea of how to build and run an...

Case Supplier Required by

Does anyone know of any suppliers within the M25 (esp. in the NW10

The J&C range from ebuyer seem appealing, esp. since I have bought about 100
of these before from C&J, but they did try and rip me off a bit.
Im looking for something on the lines...
