Two CD ROMs by
Phisherman
I configured an old Toshiba CD ROM (XM-5602B) as a slave and connected
it to an exisiting "middle plug" IDE cable to a SONY CD ROM. After
rebooting Win98SE, it fully recognized the newly added CD and model
number automatically. The Device Manager says that the Toshiba CD Rom

Upgrading Older System by
Biff
I think the biggest bang for the buck would come from upgrading the
processor. Faster K6-2 chips are available both new and used (i.e. on
eBay). You might also use a K6-III (basically a K6-2 with on-die L2
cache). This board may be able to use a K6-2+ or K6-III+ chip. (See
below link for...

Antec LANBOY - can't figure out purpose of 2 extra front LEDs by
Dirk Puslich
Hi. I have an Antec LANBOY. There are 4 LEDs on the front. One for
power, one for HDD activity, and two labeled "I" and "II". There are
also wires attached to these LEDs labeled I and II but there is
nothing to attach them to.
WTF?
They are not in the manual.
Thanks!

Linksys Router and DLink Modem.. by
JAD
what cable are you using to connect the modem to router? does it require
a crossover or straight through? What port on the router are you uplinking
the modem to? Does your modem/mac address need to be recognized by the ISP
network?

Recommendations by
Hunter
I have a spare processor sitting here. It's an AMD Athlon XP 1700+.
The catch is: it's a Thoroughbred Core. Any recommendations on a
mother board for this chip? I'll probably use spare parts and create
a linux machine out of it.
Thanks
