Benefits in using ASUS video cards with ASUS motherboards? by
mark
Is there an inherent benefit in compatability, reliability or
performance when using an ASUS video card with an ASUS motherboard?
If I'm going to buy an ASUS motherboard, should I just get an ASUS
video card and be done with it or is it really worth it to investigate
the rest of the video card...

I have the ASUS P800 Motherboard and windows xp.
This MB has the sound built in but I have found no way to reduce the bass
output.
I can adjust Balance, Mic input and many other things, but the bass and
treble adjustments were greyed out.
How can I adjust this bass on my Cambridge speakers with...

A8V and Antec NeoPower Are Incompatible by
Robert Nurse
Hi All,
Just found out the hard way that the A8V and Antec Neopower are not
compatible. The power connection to the board has 24 pins. The A8V
only takes 20. Luckily, I have a True Power 430 lying around. It's
more of an inconvenience (+ restocking fee) than anything.

Replacing P4B onboard sound to improve gaming by
Icebiker
Hi,
P4B MB with a 1.5GHz P4 CPU.
I am experiencing dropouts in sound with some games (it's particularly
problematical with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit II).
I've read that the onboard sound on these boards is rather minimal, so I'm
willing to drop in a sound card.

Problems installing winxp on P5GD1 by
Per Weisteen
Started out by trying to move my dual-boot win2k/redhat installation (2
ide disks and 2 ide opticals) to new rig containing P5GD1 and a new SATA
disk. That was a disaster. Redhat booted ok, win2k just bluescreened.
Thought maybe better off by upgrading to winxp first so I moved back to
old rig and...

Noisy AMD fan on ASUS k8V-X by
xxx73
The fan on my retail AMD64 3000+ gets very noisy when CPU usage goes
over 50%. I have noticed that the fan speed then goes upto around
6000rpm. Is this fan supposed to be so noisy?

P5AD2 Premium, network installation under linux kernel 2.6? by
Benjamin
Hi,
I'm curious if anyone has configured the P5AD2 networking under linux
kernel 2.6... I'm having some troubles getting it to recognize the
card. After doing some digging, I found that you have to use
syskonnect driver, which comes with Fedora Core 3. I've selected the
sk98lin driver, but it...

Again: No POST! by
Bobbie Leslie
I notice you posted this to three newsgroups; therefore, I don't know
if you got an answer or not. Try to stick to one NG when possible. It
would probably be better if you list everything about your computer
(to one newsgroup) and maybe someone can help you. There's a number of
things that can...

2. I have a Prescott 3.2, its rated for 1.4v but the mb gives it
1.43v-1.5v. Should I be...
