Moving/Copying Files by
J.D.
I recently got a new Dell and love it. However, when I move or copy a file
(usually a picture) from one folder to another, the picture will go to the
correct folder, but suddenly I get 20 or more copies of that picture
appearing in it's original folder. Sometimes they copy so fast, I can't
keep...

Powering up an 8300 by
RD
The power to my computers, monitor, accessories is controlled from a multi-plug
power control/surge protector. I turn everything on with one switch. However,
I still have to manually push the power button to start my 8300 which runs Win
XP. Is there a way to configure it's "power-up" status so...

Capt Nemo
Looking at a 2350 with flat panel for my college kid.
If I have it shipped home first and she takes it off to college in 6 weeks,
does the regular & ext warranty cover shipping back to the college if she
has trouble there?

Roderick Samuels
I'm running WinXP Pro, and I want to put in 2 new 80GB hard
drives, one to backup the other, both eventually formatted in NTFS.
I currently have a 17GB hard drive formatted in FAT32.
Can I add in one 80GB HD as the secondary drive, copy the
current 17GB primary HD to it, then convert the secondary...

What is the native resolution or the sharpest resolution for 18" Ultrasharp

What is the desired amount video memory and the minimum amount video memory
to use w/ the monitor at the best resolution?
Do these monitors work well on Optiplex PCs w/ DIV out and using

IDE and SATA by
Ricky W. Hunt
I just bought a new Dimension 4600. It came with one IDE drive and I added
another so including the CDROM and CDRW all the current channels are being
used. It also has two SATA connectors on the mobo though. Can I use these in
addition to the current drives I'm using? If so, any caveats or info...

Dell vs. MPC (was Micron) by
Tom Almy
Dell offers DVD+R/RW which gives the same capability, just a different
media standard. And it is great for backups, IMHO.

is it possible to enter BIOS immediatly ? (before scsi cards scan) by
prod
Our server detects the scsi cards, disks and cd-roms, then stop... since we
activated the USB in the BIOS.
It doesn't try to boot on any disk or even diskette. It stops before that.
It doesn't even enter the BIOS. We strike F2, we have "entering setup", then
the detection of all cards and drives...

Owners of the new XPS by

Few Questions
1. How quite do you find it.
2. Comments good bad etc.
I find that when I configure and XPS and 8300 the same way there is
very little difference in price.

Please forgive is this is repeated question, I am still learning about this.
I am considering using a raid0 ONLY due to the increase in performance. I do
not need any data loss prevention that the other configs give.
I have not been able to confirm whether the current eide drives I have will
work....
