What Core 2 To Buy Now? by
Bob Johnson[_2_]
The C2 2160 looks like a dream according to Toms' and other reviews. Are
all samples going to OC to 3.0 w/ a good MB and stock cooling? Or is it
luck of the draw and getting a good "stepping"? My guru says the lack of
L2 cache is a real big deal and that a slower speed but higher cache...

Opinions on CPU choice please.... by
~misfit~[_3_]
I'm thinking of replacing my E4500 @ 3.32GHz with a 45nm part as this was
always my plan on buying this mobo (P5K-E WiFi-AP).
I'm on a tight budget. I was considering getting an E8400, that was always
my plan. However, I see that an E7200 is only 2/3 of the price, has a higher
multiplier and...

Overclocking Qs by
Peter Cavan
Hi
I know people say that Dells are unoverclockable but what I wanted to know
is - are they actually impossible to OC or is it just very hard to do? I
mean with keeping all the hardware the same, not changing the motherboard,
CPU etc.
Thanks for any help

AGP Voltage problem by
John
I have a ATI AIW 9800 PRO on a ASUS K8V Deluxe, and here is the problem.
The motherboard says that it will support videocards 1.5V only with P/N
XXXXX-XXXX-30 or later mine is XXXXX-XXXXX-12. On the video card box, it
says that 4x agp runns at 1.5 V, 8X agp is 0.8V. Does that mean I can't run
my...

It's a bad CMOS chip. The board is going back. I've cleared CMOS, till
the
cows came home. Thanks for your input, anyway.

OverClocking Guides by
Phil Weldon
Mainly you don't need any programs to overclock, but you may want some
programs to test stability after you at least get the operating system
loaded . Specific programs to actually effect overclocking are
not really necessary if you have an overclocking-friendly motherboard
(almost anything by...

PPro on a BX? by
P2B
I intercepted some old systems on their way to the dumpster today, and
grabbed a couple of interesting items I hadn't seen befo Asus C-P6S1
Socket-8 to Slot-1 adapters, complete with PPro 200Mhz/1MB L2 CPUs. They
were on Asus 440FX boards, KN97-X IIRC.
I tried them on a few Asus 440BX boards...

Upgrade Options? by
Peter van der Goes[_2_]
I'm currently using an Asus P5B Plus with an older Conroe running at 2.13
GHz. 4 Gig DDR2-800 memory.
The P5B uses the Intel P965 chipset and claims to support 1066/800/533
system bus speeds.
I now see all sorts of Core 2 Duo and Quad offerings, but I'm pretty sure my
older motherboard poses...
