Everyone says faster is better, but PC3200 ain't .. by cawdam
PC3200 is supposed to scoot at 400MHz, but my Nvidia Force 2 motherboard balks. Could this be because the the memory is CL3 .. or that the Nvidia chip set has problems with driving 2 double sided dimms ?? Or is there a bus problem between AGP and mem. In any case, I was very disappointed.. JC

File Recovery Utility? by John
Is there a free or cheap file recovery utility that will fit on a boot floppy? The cheapest one that I have found costs $49.95, and I think that's a bit steep. -john

Does a Firewire 800 PCI card make sense in a 32-bit PCI slot? by @drian
The subject says it all. I'm under the impression that Firewire 800 only works at full speed in a 64-bit slot. If I'm right and it's used in a 32-bit slot, what's the point paying the extra money for a speed you'll never achieve in a 32-bit slot? I'm looking at this...

Hi, I've got an XPHome machine, 2.0 MHz, 528MB RAM, and 60 GB hard drive. I keep the drive clean (defragged, etc.), continuously run a virus scanner, and I use AdAware to clean spyware. The XP supplied firewall is always on. Here's my 'problem'. This one's got me stumpped. I have been running...

Raid or not to Raid by AJ
I'm thinking of upgrading my homemade pc some more. Someone told me that if I set up a raid with 2 drives and set it as raid0, it will double the speed of my hard disk access. Access time is unchanged. I know I run the risk of losing everything if it goes wrong but my backups are good. I...
