1600x1050 Screen Resolution by
LNski
I have been drooling over the Viewsonic 21" VX2025WM or VA2012WB wide screen LCD monitors that are now down to about $300.00...
These monitors have a native resolution of 1600x1050...the website cautions to be sure that your video card is capable of 1600x1050...
I have the latest drivers and the...

That sounds strange. On FC5 in the display-setting menu I can choose the

monitor. Now I can also pick the native resolution I...

Posting for posterity.
System: Intel mobo, Intel 2.8ghz HT proc, 1 GB ram.
Had to rebuild for reasons multiple and various. Loaded XpSp2, intel
updates and all Xp patches. Made a fail-safe image of this config, and
then went to work on finding the right combination of ATI drivers. Had

Changing desktop size on the fly with the ATI fglrx driver in Linux by
Pete Verdon
Hi,
After several years exclusively on OS X my new job requires me to return
to Linux, on a Thinkpad T43p equipped with, I believe, an ATI Mobility
FireGL V3200. I've always used a dual-monitor setup on my Mac, and I
found it reasonably easy to get this working on my Thinkpad. However,
two...

Right.

9800pro without fan by
Mikko Parry
Hi,
I got fed up with the noise on my Club 3D Radeon 9800 pro and decided to
try out the Zalman ZM80-D dual heat pipe eventually with the OP1 fan
later if the card turns out to run too hot.
The problem I encountered was that once the original fan is off the card
and the Zalman heatsink is...

X1900 XTX price drop? by
boe
Hello,
I'm about to order an X1900 XTX but realize they are releasing the X1950
shortly. Has anyone heard any confirmed price drops on the X1900 XTX - I
have heard rumors of price drops on the X1900 but not the XTX model.
Thanks.

Prices on the new X1950 in the US? by
boe
Hello,
One forum member of a different group suggests that the X1950 will go for
about $430 US AND EURO dollars even though they have totally different
values. That would be fantastic for us in the U.S. of course but somehow I
doubt that it will go for that this year. The first pre purchase...

Radeon9600pro making noise on Samsung Syncmaster 191T by

As title, the monitor was fine when I was using ATI AIW8500.
It starts making noise (a little high pitch) after changing to this new ATI
card--Radeon9600 pro(dual display).
Any solution?
The noise is higher at the beginning and then later noise gets lower...

Audio out of phase? by
Richard Amirault
I have a AIW Radeon 7500 and I've just noticed a problem with the sound
while watching and recording TV.
The stereo audio channels seem to be "out of phase" with each other. That
is, the same signal on both channels (vocal dialog for instance) will cancel
out, while background music (since it...

ATI Radeon9600pro 256MB does not get AGP8X with Asus P4G8X? by
harry
As title, Asus claims that P4G8X supports AGP8X and Radeon 9600 Pro also
supposed to get up to 8X.
But the BIOS setup in Asus MB does not provide 0.8V and AGP speed has no 8X
option.
Am I getting AGP8X? I guess not, at least the Catalyst control panel says
only 4X and I don't feel...

First, I am a newbie that can't even spell Linux, so, please type slow.
I have a dual-boot RH 4 Enterprise edition installed on an x86 mobo with
an ATI 1600XT AGP adapter. The monitor is a Sony 24" LCD that looks
crappy with any res but the native res, 1920x1200.
The generic vid driver that...
