Unlocking Multiplier on XP2400+ by
Flossie
Hi,
I`m using a Gigabyte GA-7VA Mobo with the 7va9 bios. I can not alter the
multiplier in the Bios settings. Does this mean that iv`e got to get a
Unlocking Kit top exploit the extra multipliers from the CPU.
If i do unlock this then i definatley want a water cooling setup..

Greetings,
I recently purchased a 2500+ Barton. My motherboard would not post so
I tried my old AMD processor for verification on a bad motherboard.
I was having trouble removing the heat sink so I had someone help me

What is the best AMD XP Processor for Overclocking by
Space--Coyote
I'm in the process of upgrading my machine. I've started with an Asus
A7N8X Deluxe mainboard, but I am now ready for the processor upgrade.
I've got an XP 2000 at the moment and I wanted to know if I could get
a good speed out of that without upgrading it. Alternatively, I've
heard some stuff...

I have this board and an a barton 2500+ Processor. I have tested this chip
to 2250mhz stable (prime95 for 24hours, 3dmark 2001SE looping Demo, memtest,
etc) However, when I try to run it at 200mhz fsb, even if I drop the
multiplier as low as 10.5 (2100mhz) it is completely unstable with errors...

Copper experience by
QED, eh ?
I tried copper heatsinks - which all performed worse than similar sized
(s/a) Aluminium sinks on CPU, VPU and NB.
The worst case was that of my Radeon 9700 Pro, which would slow to
ludicrously low frame-rates - even with an 80mm, 40CFM fan on it.
Indeed it became untouchably hot - so I took it off...

Ok, i have an XP1600 with a volcano 7cu heatsink. I live in a VERY hot
climate, so you blue people don't get alarmed cos my case temp is over
15 degrees C.
My case temp is around 35-40 degrees C, which is normal here. However,
my cpu is running at 50-55 degrees C at idle with vcool!! I have...
