Alternatives to CTSPD ??? by
TMack
I have found the utility CTSPD that reads the SPD chip on dimms to be
useful. However it doesn't work with some motherboards, returning the
'chiset not found' error. Does anyone know of an alternative utility that
can give a readout of the SPD eprom on a dimm?

Pentium Pro 200 - 256k cache vs 512k & 1MB cache by
Chas.
I recently picked up a circa 1996 all SCSI Micron Millennia Pro Plus
in like new condition for $40. It was supposed to be a dual PPro 200
but when I got it home and opened it I was disappointed to find it
only had a single PPro 200 256k processor installed, 32MB of memory
and a Bus Logic SCSI card....

power managemant and cpu cooling by
davexnet
Hello,
apologize upfront for a rather esoteric problem -
I have an AMD 1.2 Tbird, and KT133a chipset
motherboard.
When I place my system in standby, a bit-setting in
the host bridge is flipped which allows the cpu too cool.
My cpu normally runs at about 45C even when Idle, however
when in standby,...

Chaintech 7aia0 with Athlon by

I know that this is not quite the right forum for this question but I get
the best responses here.
I have an older Chaintech 7aia0 (66ATA) version with the KT133 chipset. Its
supposed to support "out of the box" durons to 900mhz and athlons to
1200mhz. I have been running a duron 600 without...

XP3200+ Barton in ECS K7S5A? by
Yousuf Khan
Wondering if it's possible to run a Barton XP 3200+ in the K7S5A
motherboard? I know that the motherboard and chipset don't support the
200MHz DDR FSB of this chip, but would it be possible to run it underclocked
to 133Mhz DDR FSB for a little while, until a suitable replacement
motherboard is...

P4 and SCSI U320, is this possible? by
Test User
Hi
I'm looking to build a leading edge PC and wondered how I can use a
SCSI U320 disk system with a P4 3.2Ghz with 800mhz bus.
All the motherboards I've seen don't support PCI-X when supporting
P4's....
Anyone got ideas on a 'best of everything' PC system?

Compaq Armada E500 Memory Question by

specs listed: 256MB LP 1.15" 144 Pin PC100 32x64 SDRAM (16x8 MBGA) SODIMM as
being compatible. I'm uncertain about the 16x8 MBGA portion, would a module
with these specs work: 256MB Low Profile 144 Pin PC100 32x64 CL2...

18.00), the date/time stamp looks how I set it up, and is arrangable in

Is this the QD-RAM or QDR-SD-RAM that some have mentioned over the past
little while? Reference was to 4...
