markm75
Anyone have any thoughts on which is going to give me better write
speeds.. I know raid0 should be much better and if i combine it with
raid1, redundant..
But I'm assuming when I backup my servers to (this backup server)
across the gigabit network, my write speeds would max out at say 60 MB/

Replace magnetic with optical by
Radium[_2_]
Hi:
Why do hard disc drives use magnetic discs?
Since non-volatile flash RAM chips are not yet feasible for HDD-
substitution, why not replace the magnetic platters with optical ones
that use 400 nm lasers to write, read, erase, and re-write data?
Optical platters using 400 nm lasers would...

External hard drives and speakers by
wightstraker
I've just bought an external hard hard drive for laptop. It
sits happily on my desk, and seems to be working fine, but I have one
concern - how much of a risk is to leave it by my speakers? At the
moment it's sitting about 2-3 inches in front of my right speaker.
I've heard that this could cause...

Recover NTFS file system from a RAID 1 ATA disk by

I had a RAID 1 system which has failed. I don't want to buy new RAID

I have tried by means of FindPart where all seemed to work fine apart
from the fact that all the files copied have a non valid format. I
simply cannot open the JPG...
