What is the fastest chipset to date? by
Scott
875 is officially the fastest. 865 with a PAT enabled BIOS (Asus, Abit,
MSI) is as fast ot faster the 875 based boards. At this point the 845
chipset is old hat!

A7N8x USB2 problem by
BGS
I have XP SP1 which includes USB2 support. I have tried ASUS's XP drivers
to no avail as well.
Also installed Windows2003 (also with built-in USB 2,0 support) to no avail.
It seems like the transfer is too fast for system to keep up........ie: if I
transfer a 600mb .zip file to USB harddrive...

ASUS A7V333 Raid Version 1.04 Question by
Mike Chia
Hi All,
I was planning to upgrade my cpu on this board, does anyone know
the maximum speed of the AMD XP it can support? The ASUS website only
have information for PCB revision 1.01 and 2.00, I don't see anything
for 1.04. Any insight to this is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Regards,
Mike

A7V8X-X BIOS version 1003 vs 1005 by
Dennis Demont
Hi,
Installed a new PC today, with the ASUS A7V8X-X mainboard, BIOS version
1003. Got the famous "Hardware Monitor found an error". Checked Power Setup,
no values in red, CPU fan speed N/A.
So I checked the ASUS site, found something about CPU fan reading being
fixed in BIOS version 1005.
I...

Darrel,
I have this board and exact problem. I wish the user manual would have said
what GHalleck just said. I thought it was my motherboard bios, too. This
error message is refering to just the promise controller bios. I don't know
why it should have a bios, but it does. I have a WD 7200 40G...

Norton Ghost on A7V8X using network by
David H. Lipman
First -- This is NOT a ASUS problem.
If you can network the NIC works. This is a Symantec problem so why you posted
here -- leaves me foggy. There are Symantec support forums.
Second -- You are NOT using Crynwar Packet driver. You are setup to use MS
NDIS2 driver and a packet driver 'shim'. ...

Has anyone been able to get AsusUpdate 5.09.01 to report anything other
than "Sorry, there are no proper BIOS image files on the server!"? I'm

Nice summary of the advantages of the P4C800-E by
