Feeling inadequate... by
Martin Francis
.... as i'm sure everyone does about their machine every so often :-)
I am currently running an Athlon XP 2600+ TB at an FSB of 179MHz x12.5
(2.24GHz- Sandra clocks it somewhere above an Athlon 3200), 512Mb of
unbranded DDR2700, a GF4 Ti4600 Golden Sample and a woefully old 20Gb HDD

Hi,
I am going to build a new system based on a Shuttle Barebone with an Athlon

Because I want to run Linux, ATI cards are out of discussion here. My focus
is a Geforce FX5700 Ultra card.
I want to play some games like Enemy Territory and Doom III if it is
available, but
highest resolutions...

Did anyone buy the Asus 5900 from Dabs? by
John
Just wondering what you think of it. I got mine last week and am well
pleased. Only thing is I'm using Linux and can't overclock it just yet as
"nvclock" is still in experimental stage for the FX range.
Has anyone tried UT2004demo? I'd be interested to hear your fps and at what
resolution.
John.

nVidia 5900 cards: BFG or PNY? by
Daniel
Hello. I'm researching into purchasing a new video card, and have a
question. I was originally deciding between an ATI 9600 XT, an nVidia
5700 Ultra, or a nVidia 5900. I've found a couple of what I feel to be
good deals on the 5900, which seems to overpower both the 9600 XT and
the 5700 Ultra. ...

Advice please by
Chris Walken
I'd appreciate your advice regarding graphics card performance. My
previous card was a GeForce4 TI 4200 it did what it did and I didn't
worry too much about FPS etc.
A few months ago I decided to build a new system, a system that
hopefully would be a great game rig. The specs. are as follows:

RAM cooling and ........ by
Judge
Anyone out there running the big (wrap around) Zalman or Thermaltake
coolers on a 5900xt? My RAM is getting hot (Leadtek 5900xt with hynix
2.2ns) when I crank it up (hot enough to lock up). So I'm thinking a
bigger solution may be better than just stick-on ramsinks.
Thoughts?

I recently bought an "ASUS FX5700 256 DDR 8xAGP" and I'm wondering if I
should download and use the Nvidia drivers from their website or use the

I seem to be having a problem with my system lately and it's driving
me crazy. For the past two days my monitor has started to blink and
make a clicking sounds, exactly as if it were changing resolutions.
It does this over and over until my pc locks up and I have to reboot.
It will do it at random...

I just put in a new Chaintech FX5700 card, and now after about 10-20 min of
use the mouse becomes 'jerky', i.e., will not move smoothly across the
screen. Also, the screensave will be running, and then exhibit the same
start-stop activity. I started running my system with a side panel off the
