[email protected]
I'm having this weird issue when installing Windows on a new drive. I
used GParter to repartition the drive into a small system partition and
a larger data partition. When booting the windows CD to install, I see
what appears to be 2 hard disks, one called Disk on disk , another
called Disk 0 at...

J. P. Willis
I have a FIC SD11 motherboard holding a Maxtor hard rive. The drive

as it tries to boot from a floppy or the CDROM.
I have changed the drive cable but it mases no difference. Could it

bad clusters on maxtor drive by
hodw
Hi
I have a new maxtor 160GB drive (3 months)
I ran disk check on it and it hanged with bad clusters in different
files.
When I rebooted all directories were gone and explorer gave the disk
not formatted massage.
How can I map the bad clusters and rebuild dir info to save some of the
files?

Different translations of HDD geometry :-( by
Geir Holmavatn
Hi,
I'm responsible of maintaining quite a pile of computers and to save time I
have stored disk images of a fresh windows install with all appropriate
applications, drivers and settings. This makes it quick to restore a
computer to its 'original' state.
However apparently is disk geometry...

Marcco
Has anyone else had problems with Diskeeper 9 and USB or firewire

Here's my issues:
- almost always says that my USB drive needs to be defragged (way more
than on any other of my internal drives which keep basically the same
number and size of files)
- it hangs at times when defragging...

Case manufacturere reco for storage box? by
Ken
I am building a unit that will be used only for storage storage, perhaps
up to 1T or more, so it would hold at least 4 drives. Who makes sturdy
cases with no bare edges to cut my hands, with lots of bays and good
ventilation? (No bling here--no lights, clear sides, no chrome or mag
wheels....). ...

believe I just need to make the old one a slave, after installing an new

I haven't seen a computer sold with a floppy drive for many years now.
However, I have a program that requires me to install it from the
floppy drive. I can read it from another computer with a floppy drive
and get the image, but I'm looking for a program that will emulate a
floppy drive or floppy...

This seems like it might be useful as a second HDD for my six year old Dell
