I have a number of WordPad documents that are several years old on thumbdrives. I used WordPad with the idea in mind that I would always be able to open them with WordPad, not knowing the horrible truth that WordPad often will not open WordPad documents. When I tried opening them with a later...

I want to add a second hard drive to an older system. Can I mount it externally if I can find a cable extension? (It's too cramped inside the HP Pavillion.) Thanks, Andy

USB OverCurrent Status Detected by Man-wai Chang
I removed one USB device and the error went away. 1. Could I conclude that it's just that device not the motherboard? 2. How could I check whether that USB device short-circuited? -- @~@ Might, Courage, Vision, SINCERITY. / v \ Simplicity is Beauty! May the Force and Farce be with...

Big Disappointment with new system upgrade... by Red Cloud
I replaced new mobo, cpu and memory. I realized no AGP slot. I thought of PCI express slot as AGP slot. No AGP means I can't do my work because I need a multi-display graphic so I can do the multi- tasking. Most AGP card comes with 2 or 3 display support so I did two tasks. With new system...

Fried a power supply by Mint
I was careless and did not tape up some exposed wires for one of my power leads that I was using to power a fan in a computer. Red wire met black wire. Computer shut down immediately. Hope I didn't toast the whole computer. The P.S. is a Liteon Model # PS-6161-2H1 that puts out 188 watts.
