Creative Audigy 2 & VIA KM266 Motherboard? by
Andy Smith
I am running Windows98 SE, IE6 on a Athlon 2000+, VIA KM266 Chipset
based motherboard and 256MB RAM.
Will Creative Audigy 2 run without any problems on my system? I have
heard that Creative soundcards don't go very well with a VIA
Moherboard.

Eberhard Rinn
I intend to purchase a sound card for my notebook (USB connection). It will
be used for multitrack recording of voice (mic in) and electronic
instruments (line in).
After reading several postings in this newsgroup, I have three questions.
1) In one article I found the hint that not all units...

Rich
I recently acquired this motherboard with cpu but nothing else.
It has onboard audio connecters on the back of the board where the
LAN, video, etc reside. In the BIOS, I can enable audio support but in
the system summary it keeps saying audio DISABLED. In Windows, I
downloaded the SoundMax audio...

4.1 to 5.1? by
Beekay
Is it possible to convert a 4.1 speaker setup to a 5.1 by adding another
speaker for the center channel? My board supports 5.1 and I wanted to give
it a try. The board has connectors for front, rear, and center/sub.
If this is possible what connector/adapters need to be bought and where?

I used Windows 98 for years and recorded without any problems but ever
since the upgrade to XP I cannot get the sound to record with the
line-in. My speakers work fine and even my mic-in works but no line-in.

problem with sound playback under windows xp pro by
name
Hello.
Somehow I'm baffled by a mysterious problem with sound playback under
windows xp pro.
I suspect it's related to the driver and it's probably a
software-related issue, but I'm puzzled how
to resolve it. The problem is that when I play mono sound files, I
barely hear anything. As soon
as I...

Intellistation Z-Pro soundcard by
Kamus of Kadizhar
I dug up an old Intellistation Z-Pro I've had laying around for a bunch of
years.... I think it dates back to 1997 or so. It's a P-Pro SMP box. I
stuffed it full of ram, installed Fedora Core 2 (a flavor of linux) and it
booted right up.
Except for the soundcard. It has three sound connections...

Driver updates for Sigmatel chip? by
MS
Both of my computers are laptops, running Win XP Pro.
I know all built-in sound cards on laptops is crappy, and one has to use
something else. I already have two USB sound card devices, and will probably
be purchasing soon a PCMCIA sound card. (See other thread about the latter.)
However, I still...
