865PERL With bios P12 problem by
Bob G
I built my system with a 865PERL and had no problems at all. I decided to
flash the bios from P06 to P12 - big mistake. Now, when I boot up, I get the
initial Windows XP Pro logo, and then the screen goes blank for about 90
seconds and then the OS comes up an responds normally.
My hardware is made...

875PBZ Question by
James A. Tramutolo
In looking at the Intel Developer site, specifically product revisions, it
indicated SKU's 206 and 207 will have revisions for newer processors.
My question is:
Am I to assume this is for the early stages of Prescott, and as such if I
purchase a 205 (currently available), I should forget about...

875PBZLK and Case / PS Question? by
CDreier
I'm going to build a system using the 875PBZLK board. I'm planning on
using the new Cooler Master PAC T01K (aluminum mid-tower) with an
ENERMAX Noisetaker Series EG475P-VE-SFMA power supply. I've read the
specs for all three components, but haven't - in my mind - become
certain that all will...

8W Athlon 64 offers better performance & energy savings than IntelAtom by
Yousuf Khan
Just a regular old Athlon 64 underclocked to 1GHz, offers both higher
performance and lower power consumption than Intel Atom systems. A lot
of the efficiency is due to the AMD/ATI 780G chipset, which consumes
just 0.95W! That is compared against the Intel 945GC chipset which used
up a whopping...

90 nm or 0.13 micron - which way to go? by
MyndPhlyp
So now I have a choice in 800 MHz P4 processors - I can get the "D" chip
built at 0.13 micron or the "E" chip built at 90 nm.
Common sense tells me the smaller the processing, the higher the potential
for error (and meltdown). On the other hand, the newer chips tend to see
improvements in the line...

915 / 925 Intel motherboard shortage by
Ivan Vestergaard
When trying to place an order for an Intel D915GAGL microATX
motherboard, I discovered that Ingram Micro as well as Tech Data
etc. have no stock of this, nor any other new 915 / 925 chipset
motherboard, and don't expect any until August 28th at the
earliest.
Why is that, I wonder?
Best...

915PBL Memory compatability by
Martin Evans
On a 915PBL motherboard (3.2GHz/ 533FSB) can anyone come up with a
sound technical reason why using 2 x 1GB Kingston DDR II SDRAM
(KVR533D2N4) might cause problems? (no other memory is fitted)
Effectively this is a double sided version of the Kingston Technology
KVR533D2N4/512 that is already on...

Do they require 24-pin connectors? I've heard no mention of this, anywhere.
Specifically, the new 'Fata1ity' board.

945GTP problem by
abiliojr
Hi, I've been the owner of a 945GTP motherboard for 2 months. Yesterday
I reconfigured the bios, and it appears that I miss some memory
configuration. Even when I have 533 MHz DDR2 memories, there was
something in the "agressive" mode that made the system crash. It gives
me 3 beeps (thats base 64K...

945mb and 930 cpu by
Josh
Looking at building new system, thinking about the 930 cpu and an
Intel 945 board, probably the D945PVSLKR.
Few quick questions,
Is the 930 less "hot" than the 830? I've seen a lot of posts from
people who say they had to buy third party cpu fans, because the 830
ran too hot.
I've also seen...

955XCS bios update 2036 by
Tony Linguini
I was previously running 2022, and after this update I can hear myself
think. That is, I didn't realize how much the fan tach must have been off.
The fan now is much quieter (slower) and the temps still stay at a
reasonable level.

965 Chipset Family - System Bus Question by
Tim[_2_]
At the Intel site, the system bus of the Q965 chipset is described as
"1066/800/533 MHz-2 threads", however the system bus of the G965 and P965s
only state "1066/800/533 MHz". What does "2 threads" mean, is the Q965
system bus somehow different from the those of the G965 and P965? TIA

975X vs. 965 chipset? by
Nobody
Which of these is going to be better for the Core Duo chips? The 975X has
been out forever, and the 965 just came out. The only real difference I see
is that the 965 supports SATA II? Is that the only difference? Is there
going to be a revision of the 975X? Kind of weird if a lower number is...
