CPU burnt or alive ? by rim
Hi, Today, when I switched on my computer, it did an explosion noise and let out a (charming) little blue cloud from the PSU. With the corresponding acrid smell. Clearly, a capacitor had exploded inside the PSU. (I opened it to confirm it. It *was* a small capacitor, but now it was all over the...

Lucked out w/ Antec SLK3700 USB ports by Dk975
Got a USB 2.0 flash drive and tested it on the ports on the case. Copied 194 MB to drive in 44 sec, that's 4.4 MB/s, clearly greater than 1 MB/s.

I have an old mainboard MS6117, without the manual to go with it. On the mainboard itself is not written where I can connect which connectors (PC Speaker, Reset, ATX Power etc.) If someone has a little diagram for me I would be ever so grateful. TIA Peter Paul

How to give a 'Quiet freek' Computer Geek a stroke by dorothy.bradbury
Put him in a round room with a thousand running cooling fans and tell him there is a overheating AMD with a (Hot running?) 7200 rpm HD in the corner. Then these 10000 rpm drives must need a water cooler?..those evil cooler manufacurers should stop spreading such rumors. *smile*. Some...

Do you love or hate Antec Sonata? by online
Is it really quiet like the manufacturer claims to be? What's your experience with the case? BTW, which model do you have among the three at their website?

Why not buy some cheaper cases? by spodosaurus
wrote: I don't need a case to bi-function as a fish tank, I don't need neon lights. I do need a case's basic funtions: enough drive bays, stable power supply, and convenient USB and firewire ports in front panel, and good airflow. Antec is mentioned a lot in this group....

IS7 or IC7-G by Bebert
Hi, I'm having a hard time choosing between these two mobos. Both are from ABIT, are good overclockers... the cheaper IS7 doesn't come with all the cables, IC7-G comes with every cable you need (even with a IDE - SATA adapter). One is Springdale, other one is Canterwood.
