1.33 Athalon - Safe Operating Temperature? by
whozix
I rebuilt a system on a new FIC AU-13 motherboard, reusing my older Athalon
1.33 CPU. I purchased this OEM chip 3 years ago along with an AMD -
recommended Coolermaster heat-sink & fan. When I did the rebuild, I lapped
the large aluminum heat-sink to a fine finish, using 2000-grit sandpaper...

DFI Ultra Infinity Losing Its Network Connection. by
Peter Harrington
I have a DFI Ultra Infinity Board with a 2500 XP+ Barton Overclocked to 2.2
GHz (200x11, 1.8 V). The system is prime stable at least for a weekend.
However, I notice that it loses its network connection periodically.
Rebooting seems to fix the problems. Could this be an issue with the Vdd?
Should...

Need ideas for A64 OC by
YanquiDawg
Hey all,
I seem to have hit a wall with my Athlon 64 2800. 216 FSB(1944 mhz) is where I
am now at 1.7v.Temp is 35-37C idle. I'm using one 512M Buffalotech(Winbond)
PC3700 DDR on a Chaintech Vnf3-250(nvidia nforce3) mobo. Are there any websites
that have info on memory and voltage tweaks out there....

1 GB or not? by
robin.gordon1
I've just splashed out on a leadtek A400 6800graphics card but I'm wondering
if I update my memory by installing another 512MB to take it to 1 GB would
improve the performance a lot more.
my 3dmark 2001 SE score went from 11000 with a geforce4 4200Ti to 16000 with
this new all singing all dancing...

XP3200+ Factory-unlocked - possible? by
Erik Harris
Were any Athlon XP 3200+ chips released to market with the multiplier
unlocked, or was the lock instated before the 3200+ came out (or
concurrently)? Also, can anyone point me to an _authoritative_ explanation
of the bridge configuration for each chip?
I bought an OEM 3200+ chip awhile ago that...

cpu heatsink and fan? by
DS
Hi
I always find leaving the heatsink from a cpu a little worrying! Maybe I am
doing it wrong but following the instructions that come with the basic amd
xp hsf, I seem to need to put a lot of force on the spring clip to get it to
engage, it always worries me that either my screwdriver will slip...

Bonobo
Hi all,
Yes I want to start with overclocking my AMD 1800+ Palomino.
It's mounted on a MSI K7T raid mobo (MS-6330).
I read someting like using a "pencil" before you can start to change the
"clock-ratio".
Is that realy necessarrily?? I'm a bit afraid to mess with my cpu.....

Is there any way I can find out the model number of my Athlon XP2000,

AMD K6-2/500 reads K6-2/150 on startup by
Vicki
Someone gave me a PC that lists itself as K6-2/150 when booting up.
However, the CPU is K6-2/500mhz (I looked at it). Unfortunately, this
seems to be a no-name motherboard, and I have no docs on the board. Is
it possible that a multiplier jumper might be incorrectly set? Anybody
have any ideas?...
