Intel case stickers? by

Any idea where I would get one of those Intel case stickers from? I
bought an Intel retail CPU for a system I built and sold, and it
didn't come with one. It was a 3.0 Ghz CPU (HT). So far, no...

Floating point error (more info) by
Dylan Nicholson
I just posted regarding a possible floating point error (not sure
where), and have since discovered that:
float f = 5.15002;
double d = 5.15002;
if (float(d) f)
puts("huh 1?");
float f2 = float(d);
if (f2 f)
puts("huh 2?");

D865GBF DocMem v2.0 Memtest86 v3.0 failure memory test by
N5IN
Both DocMem v2.0 and Memtest86 v3.0 lock up with attempting memory test of a
D865GBF with 512MB single DDR DIMM. Using 2.4 GHZ 400 Mhz buss and PC3200
Kingston Memory.
Windows XP Pro runs just fine.
I believe it's a problem with the test software not avoiding memory needed
for the in board video...

Intel D865 PERL Raid Volume lost by
stroods
I have built a system running the D865 PERL, 2.4 P4, Dual Maxtor SATA
and XP SP1
I think I am on Bios 6 (never updated it)
It was fine until I installed Norton AV and a USB Zip in short
succession
When I rebooted it found the drives but the raid array failed - I
easily reset from the Ctrl I setup

Does this matter? by
jimrx4
I know this is a cross post but I need a quick answer.
I'm just a neophyte so excuse the sophomoric query. I plan on building a
computer. I have chosen an Intel Pentium 4 (800 FSB) Motherboard Model
BOXD865PERL and when I check the specs it states that it takes a mPGA 478
chip . When on this site...

Hi,
I have a Toshiba 1130-Z31 with a 2Ghz P4 Mobile in an 82852 board.
The latest intel application accelerator does not support mobile procesors
any more.
But I would like to use the performance enhencements the driver offers and
therefore downloaded the 2.22 version which still supports the...

Celeron 2.0 GHz - Which RAM and MOBO by
Guess Who
Starting with Celeron 1.7G and up, the system bus is only 400Mhz, so the
best RAM performance you can get would only be DDR233.

Which is faster? by
NoOne
I am soon going to build a new pc, but ned to know what hardware I should be
looking at as I want a really fast system.
I had thought of going for a mobo based on RDRAM technology, but have been
told that the DDR- based mobo is faster.
I looked at the various chipsets on Intel's website, but it's...

I'm assuming the first is more expensive - I wouldn't say its worth $30

Celeron vs. Pentium by

As I understand it, Celeron is a crippleware version of Pentium. In
the days of the Pentium II, it was obvious that the Celeron was just a
cheap version of the PII, but now that we have the PIII and PIV, how
do you tell which Celeron corresponds to which Pentium core?...
