While moving my XP system to a new 2.5 inch hard drive I used a USB adapter that powered the drive off the USB. That's fine, but I'm wondering if it is a good idea for regular use? Thanks -- JimL

When I turn on various USB devices such as my external hard drive or printer I get a dong ding sound. When I turn it off I get the ding dong sound. Why should I get a dong ding sound when I merely plug in a new hub? No hub I've ever had before did that. Thanks -- JimL
