Joining Audio Lines by
Grinder
I have a couple of audio lines (one from an xbox, and one from an xbox
360) that I would like to simultaneously feed to a set of powered
speakers. It's not that I necessarily want to have the sound overlap,
it's just that I don't want the complication of having to select which
audio is routed...

Problem scanning odd-sized negs with Epson V750 Pro by
Rhonda
I'm hoping someone here has had experience with this.
I have to scan tons of 110 negatives on the V750 Pro. There is no film
holder for that size and putting them on the glass created too many
Norton rings to deal with.
Epson suggested I make my own cardboard holders for all of the odd...

Do LCD monitors have a red tinge for small-sized font? by
VanguardLH
Just got my first LCD monitor (Samsung 932BW, 19" widescreen, 1440x900
native resolution and the only one where the text is sharp). I
noticed that some text has a red tint just to the side of the it
(i.e., like a red shadow). To reproduce it easily, I open Notepad and
fill a line with "l"...

Laptop Warranty Problems by
Andy[_3_]
I purchased an Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop 10 months ago. It recently
started acting up and I discovered bad sectors on the hard drive. I
was just going to send the hard drive in for replacement, so I removed
it and started loading up another drive.
I had trouble loading Windows on it. It would...

hard drive too slow by
adam russell
I have a fairly new computer with a western digital caviar SE16 250GB 7.2K
rpm 16MB hard drive. I sometimes get lag when the drive usage goes to 100%
(as shown by the nvidia monitor), and it sometimes goes on for up to 30
seconds. On advice from others I have used the perfectdisk defragger,...

I currently have a couple of these systems from Compaq and a few of
them are saying Disk Controller Failure, sometimes even when their is
no Hard Drive hooked up. It's error 1782.

Problem with a DC supplier by
il barbi[_2_]
What do you do with DC suppliers feeding PCs and peripherals, since
normally they cannot be switched off and are continuously bound to mains?
Now for ethical reasons and also to spare energy I plugged all of them to
a multi-socket that can be switched off but a problem arose with a PC...

Monitor Acer F20 does not wake up from sleep by
cab
I have an Acer F20 monitor (very nice screen !) connected to an HP
Vectra with XP-SP2.
Sometimes when the PC goes to sleep, the monitor will not completely go
to standby; instead it becomes night-blue (almost black) with the lamp
still on. Then waking the PC up will not reactivate the monitor. No...

- Heavyweight Databases e.g. Oracle (rather from Linux e.g. Fedora).
- Use of lot of Win apps I have already paid for e.g....

Unplug a cooling fan while PC turned on? by
dean
I need an additional fan in my PC - the only room is on the side
panel, bolted onto the outside of the casing (sticking out, as it
were). If I want to take off the side while the PC is on, I will need
to unplug the little connector to the power supply to remove the panel
completely (its the regular...

Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad - Stock heatsink/fan by
DevilsPGD[_2_]
I'm eyeballing a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, and wondering if anyone has
any suggestions on a heat sink/fan combination.
My goal is quiet, within a reasonable budget. Water cooling is not an
option at this time.
The last time I build an Intel system with a stock heatsink/fan was a P4
2.8GHz, I was...
