Merging Left Right Audio Channels [uz] by
Nate03G
Hi, Does anybody know of a program that could send or "merge" all
stereo audio in a PC to a single channel (left or right)?
For example, there are some music that plays in stereo, and sometimes
they make it so only the right headphone emits sound; I want a program
that could make the left one play...

onboard sound chip: advice needed by
jackson marshmallow
Could someone recommend a fast full duplex onboard sound chip, or a
motherboard with such a chip?
I hope to find something with reasonably good audio quality but don't expect
too much. The focus is speed, so I can do pseudo-realtime processing. The
software I'm going to use is W2k, WDM drivers,...

Can I have two sound cards? by
Sexy Hallik
I have an issue with a multiboot machine. I am very happy with my
old Turtle Beach Montego sound card that I use for Windows 98 and
XP.
Now I've installed SuSE Linux and can't get the sound card working.
I already know it's not supported directly by SuSE. I've gone on
the web and done a lot of...

Auto switch to line-in? by
John
Does anyone know of a windows compatible soundcard or software that
will sense a signal coming though the line-in and automatically switch
to it? For example, if I am playing an mp3 off the harddrive and I
turn the radio on which is plugged into the line-in jack on the
soundcard, the mp3 will...

Transfering Vinyl records to CD/mp3 by
Crimson Liar
Some months back we had a thread talking about putting vinyl records onto CD
or saving them as mp3's. At the time of that chat, I hadnt found any
software for the job that I liked. What I had tried either distorted the
sound far too much, or required just too much hard work. Well for the...

conexant driver hides line-in by
Brian K. White
I have a HP zd7000 sereies laptop that has a Conexant CX20468 sound card +
modem chip.
The chip itself has Line-In pins, but the motherboard has nothing connected
to them.
I have looked at the chip directly and the pins really are not connected to
anything.
I have found the following reference...

Separate Line in jack? by
Louise
I just got a new system with an Audigy 2 ZS. The audio sound is pretty
good and I'd be happy - except -
I use voice recognition software with a microphone, attached to a preamp
which feeds into the line-in jack.
The Audigy 2 ZS has combined the line in with several other inputs and I
have to go...

Ensoniq Sound Scape Elite DSP (ESP) by

Hi! I know that several years ago, there was a great interesst among
Ensoniq Soundscape Elite owners for reprogramming the effects engine,
but Ensoniq didn't stand by their promise of releasing info. I just
wanted to say, that if there are any old nerds who for any reason
would still be interessted...

Hi Group
I've been using MSN to make phone calls to family overseas. I know that
this sounds silly, but I always feel awkward using a mic and speakers or
headset, and was wondering is it possible to inexpensively connect up an old
telephone handset instead - or better still use an adaptor (USB...
