"Bird Chirping" Noise Hard drive, seagate only? by
Bob Brown INC.
Got a 7200.10 drive, the 320gb sata II one
It has LOADS of complaints of BIRD CHIRPING noises, many many
complaints.
I see this for no other hard drive, nothing near this many complaints.
It's happening to me, yet the drive never freezes, gives errors or
fails to boot or load programs.
It's FAST,...

"CPU temperature" in BIOS - what circuitry is involved? by
Orson Cart
I was given a PC because it "crashed after a while".
When I peeked in the BIOS settings, I noticed the CPU temperature
was too low, e.g. 19 degrees. The fan seemed to be going pretty
slow, so I guess it just overheated. I set the fan speed to full on,
and replaced the CPU (in case it was toasted),...

"D" drive disappeared... by
sundance
Nothing of any signifcance happened... just logged on and the
"D" drive was not there any more. Device manager sees it,
and says it is working properly; however, when I go to "my
computer" it is not there, and I cannot access any of the files
on it. This drive has been working fine since I...

"Feedback" in speakers by
[email protected]
I've never run across anything like this before. It seems as if when
the components inside my pc heat up, I can 'hear' HD activity via my PC
speakers. Almost as if something werent grounded properly. If your
familiar with car audio, it reminds me of what happens when speaker
lines are run too close...

"Hotwiring" a power supply by
MikeB
I'm messing about with building a PC (from the frame on up). I tell
ya, it's a project that just keeps on spiraling out of control... :) I
just riveted together parts of the chassis I took apart to spray
paint. Now I'm looking at fitting the fans.
And here comes the crunch. I'm sitting there,...

"John Doe" - Who does this asshole think he is? by
[email protected]
The Emperor of Usenet? He goes riding around Usenet on his white horse,
declaring "troll" or "netcop wannabe", based on some criteria that he
alone has decided is morally correct. Am I the only one who thinks this
guy is a complete asshole? Who is he to decide who is a troll or not,
and on what...
